About Lake Medina:
The Timbers is roughly 0.4 miles east of Lake Medina, the largest lake in the Rocky River Watershed. The 103-acre reservoir was created by impounding a portion of the South Branch of the Rocky River near where it enters the West Branch. The lake served as Medina’s municipal water source from the early 1960s until 2002, when it was leased to the park district.

Lake Medina is a peaceful oasis that allows fishing and non-motorized boating and watersports like canoes, kayaks, and stand-up paddle boards (must be launched from public access areas). With minimal churning and limited ingress/egress preventing upstream pollution, the lake remains clear and healthy. Its crystal clear waters are surrounded by lush greenery in the summer and a splendor of fiery foliage come autumn. Public access to the lake is available from Granger Rd or Medina Rd.
Along the west side of the lake is a forested park and two trails (a 1.08-mile gravel trail follows the western shoreline; a 1.4-mile asphalt trail meanders along the West Branch of the Rocky River, crossing the river twice with bridges and boardwalks, and connecting to the city of Medina’s paved trail along Reagan Parkway).
