About Blue Heron Real Estate

Blue Heron is a highly sought-after residential swim and tennis community in eastern Medina, Ohio (Montville Township) offering lakefront views, paved trails, abundant greenspace, an on-site brewery and pub, and surrounding nature preserves.

The subdivision of Blue Heron includes roughly 150 luxury homes and 90 freestanding limited-maintenance cluster homes off the north side of Sharon Copley Rd, 0.1 miles east of River Styx Rd.

Tributary streams meandering along the northern end of the site offer scenic rolling topography and walkout basements.

🚂 Train tracks run beyond the east end of the community for those concerned about noise pollution.

All homes have city water and sewer.

Residences are either served by Highland Local School District or Medina City School District (specified in the housing sections below).

Below are comprehensive details about the community and its amenities, single-family homes, cluster homes, lots, HOA fees, nearby conveniences, driving directions, and recent sales.

Blue Heron Amenities:

Residents enjoy Blue Heron Lakes Swim & Tennis Club facilities, which include a heated outdoor junior Olympic size swimming pool, wading pool, restrooms, concessions, and two asphalt courts striped for tennis and pickleball.

The neighborhood also boasts 100+ acres of HOA-owned greenspace (yellow areas on community map below) with trails, five sizable fishing lakes, rolling meadows, and old-growth forests.

Several streams intersect the site, particularly along the north end, but do not impose any special flood hazards. View FEMA Flood Map.

Community map

Bordering the neighborhood to the north and east are 195 acres of nature preserves (see illustration below), which was formerly Blue Heron Golf Course. The Blue Heron Park Complex consists of three separate but adjoining parks (designated in green on above and below maps) that include outdoor fitness stations, first-class mountain bike trails with ramps and biking accouterments, a coffee shop with mountain bike and snowshoe rental, and 11+ miles of paved trails that meander through fields, streams, ravines and woodlands.
