Pioneer Way is a community of 23 custom-built single-family homes with 2+ acre lots in York Township of Medina, Ohio. It is located 0.2 miles east of Columbia Rd off the south side of Wolff Rd, and comprises Pioneer Way Dr, three homes on Wolff Rd (house numbers 6504, 6520 & 6454), and Pilgrim Dr.
These homes were custom built between 2000-2018.
These ranch and two-story homes range from 2,400-6,700 square feet with 3-5 bedrooms and 2.5-4.5 bathrooms.
Being that homes were constructed by multiple builders over 18 years, designs and features vary. Inside, common amenities include hardwood or LVP flooring, laundry rooms with utility tubs and cabinets, formal dining rooms, formal living rooms or private dens, and fireplaced great rooms (some are two-story) that open to kitchens featuring granite or quartz countertops, tile backsplash, center island, breakfast bars, a pantry, and dinette area. First-floor owner’s suites include walk-in closets and bathrooms with walk-in showers, soaking/jetted tubs, dual sinks/vanities, and enclosed commodes. Second floors may have lofts or bonus rooms. Finished lower levels are complete with media rooms, bars, billiard areas, and exercise rooms.
Attached side-entry garages accommodate 2-3 cars. Many homes also have detached garages or outbuildings.
Homes have public water and septic systems.
Backyards feature custom patios and/or composite decks, fire pits, and even swimming pools.
Homesites range from 2.1 to 3.5 acres. There is also one home on a double lot totaling 8.5 acres.
Excluding the wooded parcels at the southeast end of the cul-de-sac, the site was formerly used as cropland and devoid of trees, offering offering flat topography and wide-open country views. Tree plantings provide desired privacy.
A tributary stream of Mallet Creek flows across two properties at the southeast corner of Pioneer Way Dr.
As with most neighborhood streets in Medina, there are no curbs or sidewalks along Pioneer Way Dr or Pilgrim Dr.
Pioneer Way Dr ends in a permanent cul-de-sac.
Pilgrim Dr has a dead end, which could be extended with future development opportunities.
The development is bordered by residential properties to the west and farmland to the east.
The neighborhood is serviced by Buckeye Local School District. The school campus is conveniently around the corner on Columbia Rd (a 3 min drive).
There are no Homeowner’s Association (HOA) fees at Pioneer Way.
Other nearby developments include Hunters Woods (across the street).

You are 5 min from the nearly 3-mile crushed limestone Lester Rail Trail, which connects to York Township Community Park with a playground, pond, large pavilion, sledding hill, and an outdoor ice skating area. Mill Stream Park, a 7 min drive, has a play structure, basketball court, pavilion, and a paved .7-mile all-purpose trail encircling the park’s meadow. Memorial Park is 13 min away with a large wooden playground that looks like a castle, swings, Frisbee golf, a dog park, and an outdoor public swimming pool. Lake Medina is 15 min away for walking trails, fishing, canoeing, and cross-country skiing. The Medina Community Recreation Center is also 15 min away, which includes a fitness center, a four-lane track, field house with four multipurpose courts, indoor competition pool and leisure pool with play structures and sprays, a whirlpool, and locker room.
Numerous golf courses are accessible in 10 minutes or less, including Cosset Creek, Bunker Hill, Coppertop, Pleasant Valley, Ridge Top, and Shale Creek.
If you are looking for private club membership, it’s 14 min to Weymouth Country Club, 15 min to Medina Country Club, and 20 min to Fox Meadow Country Club.
