About Remsen Chase
There are roughly 125 custom-built homes in Remsen Chase, which are dispersed throughout several unconnected communities in northeast Medina Ohio (Granger Township).
The western side of Ridge Rd has two separate subdivisions that occupy most of the land north of Wilbur Rd, between I-271 and Ridge Rd: Forest Drive and Sweet Briar.
The developments on the eastern side of Ridge Rd include homes on Longwood Dr and Wilbur and Ridge roads.
Descriptions below are based on each individual Remsen Chase neighborhood.
All are serviced by the highly-rated Highland Local School District along with bussing to St. Albert the Great School and the prestigious Old Trail School.
There are no HOA fees in these communitiies.
Forest Drive
The first Remsen Chase community is off Ridge Rd and includes roughly 17 homes on Forest Dr and a 5 homes on Ridge Rd. These homes were built between 1989-2007. They range from 2,200-7,100 square feet with 3-5 bathrooms and 2.5-4.5 bathrooms.
Homesites range from 2.5 to 45 (yes, forty-five) acres. For maximum privacy, most lots are heavily forested so that homes are not viewable from the street or from neighboring homes. Granger Ditch, a Rocky River tributary, and an intersecting stream run through many lots in this development, offering ravined views and wildlife viewing opportunities.
I-271 is about 0.3 miles west of the cul-de-sac, but is separated by dense forest.
Homes have septic systems and well water.
Sweet Briar
The largest Remsen Chase subdivision is off Wilbur Rd and includes roughly 60 homes. There are two entrances via Sweet Briar Dr and W Sweetbriar Dr. In addition to its entrance/main streets, the subdivision also encompasses Walnut Hollow, Westwood Dr, and Woodberry Dr, as well as a few homes on Wilbur Rd. These homes were built from 1989-2006. They range in size from 2,200-6,600 square feet with 3-6 bedrooms and 2.5-5 bathrooms.
Lots are sized from 2.3 to 18 acres. Homesites range from lightly treed to heavily forested and many lots are ravined.
Directly west of this development is I-271. Some homes are as close as 0.1 miles from the highway, so they will experience interstate traffic noise.
To the east is Highland Middle School.
Homes have septic systems and public water, but some homes opt to utilize well water.
Ridge and Wilbur Road Homes
On the east side of Ridge Rd are two more communities. The first neighborhood includes roughly 20 homes upon Ridge and Wilbur roads. Homes were built between 1987-2006. They mainly range from 2,000-3,200 square feet with 3-5 bedrooms and 2.5-4 bathrooms.
Lightly treed to wooded homesites range from 2.5 to 20 acres with some rolling lots.
Homes have and septic systems and well water, except for the homes on Ridge Rd that have public water.
Some homes along the southeast side of Wilbur Rd abut the Granger Wetlands Wildlife Sanctuary.
