About Carter Huntley’s Plantation
Carter Huntley’s Plantation is a community of 22 custom-built luxury homes in eastern Medina, Ohio (Granger Township). This subdivision is located 0.3 miles south of Granger Rd, off the west side of State Rd. The development includes the north end of Huntley Dr (house numbers 565-721) and the cul-de-sac street of Carter Dr.
Homes along the southern end of Huntley Dr (house numbers 722-747) belong to the Plantation South development.
Fun fact: This community and its streets are named after Carter Huntley (1830-1904), who became a leading agriculturalist and livestock dealer in Granger Township, owning nearly 340 acres of land.
Homes were constructed by custom builders including Steve Moore from 1997-2004 and range from 4,000-7,100 square feet with 3-5 bedrooms and 3.5-5 bathrooms.
Inside, homes are exquisitely appointed with hardwood flooring, dramatic two-story foyers with turned staircases, formal dining rooms with tray ceilings, formal living rooms and/or private dens, large laundry rooms with utility tubs and cabinets, and second-floor bonus rooms. Two-story or vaulted great rooms with fireplaces are open to kitchens featuring granite or quartz countertops, tile backsplash, breakfast bar seating, top-of-the-line appliances, walk-in pantry, dinette area, and hearth or sunroom. Finished lower levels (some are coveted walkouts!) are complete with media rooms, bars, kitchenettes, wine cellars, and exercise rooms.

Attached side-entry garages accommodate 3-4 cars. Many homes also have detached garages/outhouses.

The subdivision of Carter Huntley’s Plantation is in eastern Medina, Ohio (Granger Township), off the west side of State Rd, 0.3 miles south of Granger Rd.
Highways are accessible in 9 min to I-77, 10 min to I-71 and I-271, and 20 min to I-80/Turnpike.
Montrose’s commercial district is just 8 min east for numerous dining options, grocers, and retailers including Home Depot, Lowe’s, Hobby Lobby, T. J. Maxx, Walmart, World Market, Staples, and JCPenney.

Local outdoor recreation amenities are plentiful! The 150-acre Granger Wetlands Wildlife Sanctuary is just a 5 min drive. Just 6 min away is Allardale Park with hiking and equestrian trails, a picnic shelter and indoor lodge. The Cleveland Metroparks’ Hinckley Reservation is 8 min away with 2,803 acres including twenty miles of all-purpose trails, bridle trails, a 90-acre lake (Hinckley Lake) with a boathouse for water sport rentals, a beach, swimming pool, two smaller fishing ponds also used for ice fishing and skating come winter, stone carvings at Worden’s Ledges, and its most notable feature–the porous sandstone outcroppings of Whipp’s Ledges. Hinckley Reservation is also home to the annual festival known as Buzzard’s Day, which celebrates the return of the turkey vulture to the area around mid-March. You’re 10 min to Carolyn Ludwig Mugrage Park with green space, two miles of trails, a large playground, fishing pond, and a spacious fenced dog run. Bath Nature Preserve is a 13 min drive with hiking and equestrian trails, two ponds for catch-and-release fishing, sled riding, and cross country skiing. The 33,000-acre Cuyahoga Valley National Park, which includes the Cuyahoga River and numerous waterfalls, the 87-mile Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail, and the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad is 14 min away. Richfield Heritage Preserve is 15 min away, offering 336 wooded acres with hiking trails that include a portion of the Buckeye Trail, winding streams, two lakes for fishing and non-motorized watersports, and a horse barn with five miles of bridle trails. Lake Medina is also 15 min away for hiking, fishing, canoeing, and cross-country skiing.
If you’re a golfer, there are several golf courses accessible in 20 minutes or less including Hinckley Hills, Pleasant Valley, Ironwood, Briarwood, Bunker Hill, Seneca, and Sleepy Hollow. If you’re looking for social membership and golf, you’re 8 min to The Sharon Golf Club and 15 min to Weymouth Country Club.
Boston Mills and Brandywine Ski Resorts are a 25 min drive for skiing and tubing during the winter months.
