The subdivision of Howard Ferguson (also written as H Ferguson or called Newbury) is a community of 24 custom-built homes off Hilliard Blvd in Westlake Ohio. These homes were constructed by builders including Restifo from 1976-1987. Most have since been updated or remodeled.
The development was named after the legendary St Edward High School wrestling coach and real estate developer, Howard E Ferguson.
Howard Ferguson homes are mostly two-story and range in size from 3,600-6,200 square feet, with 3-5 bedrooms and 3.5–4.5+ bathrooms.
A variety of facade styles including stately full-brick/stone, Tudor, and contemporary offer an interesting and unique streetscape.
Howard Ferguson homes offer desirable amenities including hardwood flooring, dramatic two-story foyers with curved staircases, laundry rooms with utility tubs and cabinets, private dens and/or formal living rooms, formal dining rooms, great rooms with fireplaces, and spacious kitchens with center islands with seating, dinette area, pantry, and even sunrooms. Howard Ferguson is off Hilliard Blvd, between Columbia and Canterbury roads. Hilliard Blvd is a picturesque 4-lane street with a divided center median that houses saplings and more than 220 flower boxes, which are sponsored and planted by residents of Westlake.
Howard Ferguson is accessible through the development of Canterbury Manor via Salem Pkwy from Hilliard Blvd. Howard Ferguson homes encompass the middle section of Newbury Dr (house numbers 1915-2062) and the cul-de-sac street of Newbury Ct. The new construction homes at the southern end of Newbury Dr belong to Canterbury Manor 2.
This lovely community has tree lawn saplings, sidewalks, and lantern-style streetlights. The cul-de-sac of Newbury Ct has a landscaped island.
There are no Homeowner’s Association (HOA) fees at Howard Ferguson.

The Howard Ferguson neighborhood in Westlake Ohio is located off Hilliard Blvd, between Columbia Rd and Canterbury Rd. It’s just a 5 min drive to I-90, making commuting a breeze. You’re also 12 min to I-480 and 14 min to I-71.
This subdivision is 8 min from Crocker Park—the best shopping on the west side of Cleveland—a 75-acre, open-air collection of restaurants, retail, entertainment & leisure. Additional retail and dining is available at Avon Commons. Additional retail is conveniently only 9 minutes away at Westwood Shopping Plaza, Westgate Shopping Center, and Great Northern Mall.
As for nearby parks, there are several. Clague Park (5 min), which hosts the city’s 4th of July fireworks display, has ball fields/courts, picnic pavilions, walking trails, and a duck pond. The new Westlake Aquatic Center is also located in Clague Park. It offers five bodies of water for all ages: slide plunge pool, lazy river, activity pool, splash pad, and the main pool with diving board, climbing wall and lap area. Tri-City Park (8 min) has ball fields/courses, picnic pavilion, playground, and restroom facilities. Bradley Woods Reservation is a 13 min drive with 828 acres of dense forests, 2+ miles of hiking trails, a fishing lake with surrounding walking path, picnic pavilion, greenspace, and monarch butterfly waystation. The Metroparks’ Rocky River Reservation is 13 min away, offering 2,520 acres with picnic areas, play areas, sledding hills, ball fields, nature trails, paved trails, nature center, stables and bridle trails, marina, fishing areas, boat rentals, waterfalls and lagoons, and three golf courses.

CYC is located on its own island at the mouth of Rocky River, nine miles west of downtown Cleveland.
