Chapparal is a gorgeous community of 23 detached limited-maintenance luxury cluster homes in eastern Westlake Ohio, located off the east side of Columbia Rd, between Center Ridge and Westwood roads. It encompasses the streets of Chapparal Ave, Chapparal Ave N, and Chapparal Ave S.
Homes were constructed by Valore Builders from 2001-2018.
Chapparal’s harmonious streetscape is lined by charming cottage-inspired facades of cedar and brick/stone designs, each with varying designs.
These free-standing colonial and ranch cluster homes range from 3,200-5,800 square feet, with 3-4 bedrooms and 2.5+-4.5 bathrooms.
Inside, Chapparal luxury cluster homes are superbly appointed with amenities like hardwood flooring, marble and/or slate floor tiles, oversized windows, extensive millwork, 9-10′ ceilings, and solid 8′ doors. Principal rooms include large laundry rooms with utility tubs and cabinets, formal dining rooms, private dens, and great rooms (some are vaulted or two-story) with fireplaces that are open to kitchens featuring granite or quartz countertops, center islands, tile backsplash, walk-in pantry, dinette area, and even sunrooms or screened porches. First-floor owner’s suites have sizable walk-in closets and en-suite bathrooms with dual vanities, soaking/jetted tubs, and walk-in showers. Second floors may include bonus rooms and or lofts. Finished lower levels (some with egress windows) are complete with bars, billiard areas, media rooms/home theaters, and exercise rooms. Attached front or side-entry garages are heated and accommodate 2-3 cars.
Elegance is extended outdoors with brick paver driveways, walkways, and porches. Backyards also feature brick paver patios and/or composite decks.
Select homesites have lightly treed backyards. However, the entire perimeter of the community is surrounded by a dense treeline offering privacy to abutting homes.

The entrance to Chapparal Ave is exquisitely adorned with lush landscaping and stacked stone pillars. In the center of the street is a divided median and a roundabout, both of which are landscaped.
Each street is enhanced by lantern-style streetlamps, curbs, and—atypical of cluster communities—sidewalks along both sides of the street, so there is plenty of pavement to bike, skate, stroll and walk the dog. Cul-de-sacs are enhanced by islands with parking pads and lush landscaping.
Chapparal is not connected to any other subdivision, so traffic is limited to residents and their guests.
Post is conveniently delivered to patina-colored double mailboxes (2 boxes per post) placed at every other driveway.
Homeowner’s Association (HOA) fees at Chapparal are approximately $350/month, which includes snow removal, lawn care and landscaping.

Location Details & Nearby Amenities
Chapparal is located in Westlake Ohio off the east side of Columbia Rd, between Center Ridge Rd and Westwood Rd. This easternmost section of Westlake that borders Rocky River offers the trifecta of quick access to I-90, local retail, and numerous nearby parks.
The community is ideally situated 1.3 miles south of I-90 – far enough away to evade interstate congestion and traffic noise, but still accessible in 6 minutes. It is 10 min to I-480 and 19 min to I-80/Turnpike.
Chapparal is 8 min to Westlake’s state-of-the-at Recreation Center. The 86-acre outdoor complex includes 2 baseball/softball fields, soccer fields, tennis courts, fishing pond with dock, playground, gazebo, picnic area, paved outdoor trail, and plenty of green space for your enjoyment. Inside the facility, there’s a 13,500 square foot fitness room, 2 group exercise rooms, 2 high school-sized regulation basketball courts, cycling studio, elevated rubber running track, locker rooms with saunas, childcare, and community/conference/class/craft rooms. The indoor aquatics center houses 5 pools including a lap pool, a diving well, a children’s play pool, a lazy river, and slides.
Nearby parks include Clague Park (6 min), which hosts the city’s 4th of July fireworks display and has ball fields/courts, picnic pavilions, walking trails, and a duck pond. The new Westlake Aquatic Center is also located in Clague Park, which offers five bodies of water for all ages: slide plunge pool, lazy river, activity pool, splash pad, and the main pool with diving board, climbing wall and lap area. Bradley Woods Reservation is a 13 min drive with 828 acres of dense forests, 2+ miles of hiking trails, a fishing lake with surrounding walking path, picnic pavilion, greenspace, and monarch butterfly waystation.
Golfers are less than 15 minutes from an array of courses/facilities including Springvale and North Olmsted Golf Club, Meadowood, Hilliard Lakes, North Ridge Indoor Golf, Red Tail, Mastick Woods, Big Met, and Little Met.
There are several private clubs nearby: 10 min to Westwood Country Club, 13 min to Lakewood Country Club, 14 min to Avon Oaks Country Club, and 15 min to Cleveland Yachting Club.
