Woods of Western Reserve is a community of roughly 136 homes in northeastern Hudson, Ohio with an adjacent neighborhood park.
Woods of Western Reserve is located north of I-80, between Hudson Aurora Rd and Darrow Rd. It encompasses the streets of Benjamin Cir, Herrick Cir, Jesse Dr, Jonathan Cir, Jonathan Dr, Kate Dr, Kate Cir, Kate Ct, and Samson Cir, homes along the middle section of Herrick Park Dr, and three homes on Lascala Dr.
The Woods of Western Reserve is nestled between adjoining subdivisions and accessible from Hudson Aurora Rd via Herrick Park Dr, from Middleton Rd via Lascala Dr (through Country Club Estates), and from Darrow Rd via Herrick Park Dr (through Western Reserve Park) .


Homes were constructed from 1986-1991 by builders including Ken Payne.
Facades reflect classic New England architecture, showcasing styles like Colonial Revival, Georgian Revival, Greek Revival, Tudor Revival, as well as some more contemporary designs.
The majority of homes are 2-story, but there are some ranches. Homes range in size from 2,400-5,200 square feet with 4-5 bedrooms and 2.5-4.5 bathrooms.
Homes are appointed with desirable amenities including laundry rooms with utility tubs and cabinets, two-story foyers with open staircases, hardwood flooring, formal dining rooms, formal living rooms and/or private dens with built-ins, and fireplaced great rooms with and large windows and vaulted or two-story ceilings that are open to updated kitchens featuring granite or quartz countertops, a center island, breakfast bar, tile backsplash, walk-in pantry, dinette area, and sunroom or screened porch. Vaulted owner’s suites (most are second floor) include sitting areas, walk-in closets, and en-suite bathrooms with tiled walk-in showers, soaking tubs, dual sinks/vanities, and enclosed lavatories. Full finished lower levels (a few are coveted walkouts!) are complete with theater or media rooms, kitchenettes, bars, exercise rooms, and storage areas. Attached side-entry garages accommodate 2-3 cars.
Residences are serviced with public sewer and public water.
Backyards feature patios and/or composite decks, covered living areas, pergolas or gazebos, fireplaces or fire pits, and water features.
Homesites mainly range from 0.67 to 1.6 acres. There are also a few lots over 2 acres.
Nearly every lot has a partially to heavily wooded backyard, offering natural privacy, shade and calming birdsong.
The 60-acre Darrow Road Park is just north of this community, with five homes abutting its forest. Nature and fitness enthusiasts will appreciate its 1.25-mile walking trail. An entrance to the trail is off Lascala Dr across from its intersection with Leeway Dr, which is about a 10 min walk.
The majority of this community does not have curbs or sidewalks. There is, however, a sidewalk on the south side of Herrick Park Dr that extends from Hudson Aurora Rd to Darrow Rd.
Benjamin Cir, Jesse Dr, Jonathan Cir, Kate Cir, Kate Ct, and Samson Cir have cul-de-sacs.
There are no mandatory Homeowner’s Association (HOA) fees at Woods of Western Reserve.

The Woods of Western Reserve subdivision is located in northern Hudson, Ohio (Summit County), just north of I-80/OH-Turnpike, between Hudson Aurora and Darrow Roads.
Highways are accessible in 8 min to I-80/Turnpike, 9 min to I-480, 13 min to I-271.

This neighborhood is serviced by the nationally acclaimed Hudson City School District. It is in proximity to Hudson High School, Middle School, and Elementary (all within a 6 min drive).
A number of nearby private schools also serve the community, including Western Reserve Academy (grades 9-12), Seton Catholic School (K-8), and Hudson Montessori School (preschool-8th grade) — each located in Hudson; Old Trail School (preschool-8th grade) in Fairlawn; and Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy (grades 7-12) in Cuyahoga Falls.
It’s a 7 min drive to First & Main in downtown Hudson, an upscale retail district with national chain stores along with locally-owned shops and restaurants. First & Main is also home to more than a dozen annual events in the park-like square.
LifeCenter Plus is 10 min away, Hudson’s full-service four-season health and fitness facility with strength-training and cardio equipment, five pools including a warm water therapy pool plus an outdoor aquatic center, an indoor track, rock climbing wall, racquetball and pickleball courts, as well as cycling, pilates, yoga and Tai Chi studios.
About 8 min away is Hudson Springs Park with 260 acres, a 50-acre stocked lake for fishing or boating, 2.2 miles of shaded trails encircling the water, picnic pavilions, a disk golf course, horseshoe courts, volleyball courts, bocce ball court, and a playground.
You are 10 min from Summit Bike and Hike Trail (Barlow & Terex Trailhead), which offers 34 miles past the Cuyahoga Valley National Forest and through Summit, Cuyahoga and Portage counties.
The 33,000-acre Cuyahoga Valley National Park is just 12 min away, which includes the Cuyahoga River and numerous waterfalls, the 87-mile Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail, and the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad.
Golfers are only 10 min from the city-owned golf club, Ellsworth Meadows. If you’re looking for social membership and golf, you’re 5 min to Hudson Country Club and 10 min to Lake Forest Country Club.
Boston Mills and Brandywine Ski Resorts are an 18 min drive for skiing and tubing during the winter months.
