Crown Colony in Hudson
Crown Colony, in northeastern Hudson Ohio, is a community of roughly 108 homes adjacent to the city’s school campus as well as its keystone park. Homes were constructed from 1975-1984 and have since been updated. Builders include Hargreaves and Longwell Builders.
Consistent with the designs of homes throughout historic Hudson, traditional facades include Colonial Revival, Greek Reval, Federal, Tudor, and farmhouse styles.
These colonial and cape cod homes range in size from 2,500-4,900 square feet with 4-6 bedrooms and 2.5-3.5 bathrooms.
Crown Colony homes are appointed with desirable amenities including hardwood flooring, two-story foyers with open staircases and coat closets, formal dining rooms, formal living rooms and/or private libraries with built-ins and paneling, and large first-floor laundry rooms with utility tubs and cabinets. Great rooms with fireplaces and wet bars are open to kitchens featuring granite or quartz countertops, breakfast bar seating, tile backsplash, walk-in pantry, dinette area, and sunroom. Owner’s suites include sitting areas, walk-in closets, and en-suite bathrooms with walk-in showers, soaking tubs, dual sinks/vanities, and enclosed lavatories. Full finished lower levels are complete with media rooms, kitchenettes, bars, exercise rooms, and storage areas. Homes offer attached 2-3 car front or side-entry garages.
Professionally designed backyard gardens feature lush landscape beds, paver patios and/or composite decks, pergolas or gazebos, fireplaces or fire pits, and water features.
Residences have public sewer and utilize either public or well water.
Homesites range from .44 to 1 acre. Lots are lightly to heavily treed. A number of homes also abut wooded common area (designated in yellow on map above), providing a buffer between backyards and homes of the neighboring community.
To the north and south are 12+ acres of city-owned parkland, and directly to the east is the 33-acre hardwood forest of Bicentennial Woods Park (parkland is designated in green on above map), with 15 homes backing to its woods for endless views of nature. There is also a direct entrance to the park’s half-mile trail from Victoria Pkwy, which connects to Hudson Springs Park.
There is one direct entrance to Crown Colony off Stow Rd via Victoria Pkwy. In addition to Victoria Pkwy, this development also encompasses the streets of Kings Way, St James Cir, Victoria Cir, two homes on Stow Rd, and some of the homes on N Hayden Pkwy.
This subdivision has tree lawn saplings, mature trees, curbs, streetlights, and sidewalks on one side of the street. Sidewalks lead directly to the Hudson City Schools’ campus (Elementary, Intermediate and Middle schools) off N Hayden Pkwy.
Crown Colony is also accessible through the adjoining subdivisions, Colony Terrace and Evamere Heights, which have entrances off Hudson Aurora St and E Streetsboro St.
There are no mandatory Homeowner’s Association (HOA) fees at Crown Colony.
Other nearby communities include Warner Estates.

The subdivision of Crown Colony is located in northeastern Hudson Ohio (Summit County) off Stow Rd, just south of I-80/Turnpike.
Highways are accessible in 6 min to I-480, 8 min to I-80/Turnpike, and 15 min to I-271.
This neighborhood is serviced by the nationally acclaimed Hudson City School District. The development has sidewalks leading directly to the Elementary, Intermediate, and Middle School. Hudson High School is a 3 min drive north.
A number of nearby private schools also serve the community, including Western Reserve Academy (grades 9-12), Seton Catholic School (K-8, only 0.4 miles south of this development), and Hudson Montessori School (preschool-8th grade) — each located in Hudson; Old Trail School (preschool-8th grade) in Fairlawn; and Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy (grades 7-12) in Cuyahoga Falls.
It’s a 6 min drive to First & Main in downtown Hudson, an upscale retail district with national chain stores along with locally-owned shops and restaurants. First & Main is also home to more than a dozen annual events in the park-like square.

The aforementioned trail from the neighboring Bicentennial Woods Park, leads to the 260-acre Hudson Springs Park, offering a 50-acre stocked lake for fishing or boating, 2.2 miles of shaded trails, picnic pavilions, disk golf course, horseshoe courts, volleyball courts, bocce ball court, children’s hedge maze, and a playground.
Directly north of is the paved 1.5-mile Turnpike Trail that runs between Stow and Hudson-Aurora roads, also leading to Hudson Springs Park.
You are 8 min from Summit Bike and Hike Trail (Silver Springs Trailhead), which offers 34 miles of trails past the Cuyahoga Valley National Forest and through Summit, Cuyahoga and Portage counties.
The 33,000-acre Cuyahoga Valley National Park is just 14 min away, which includes the Cuyahoga River and numerous waterfalls, the 87-mile Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail, and the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad.
Golfers are only 10 min from the city-owned golf club, Ellsworth Meadows. If you’re looking for social membership and golf, it’s 7 min to Hudson Country Club and 10 min to Lake Forest Country Club.
Boston Mills and Brandywine Ski Resorts are a 19 min drive for skiing and tubing during the winter months.
