Nottingham Gate Estates in Hudson
Nottingham Gate Estates is a master-planned residential community of roughly 140 homes with private recreational amenities and direct access to extensive paved biking/hiking trails.
Nottingham Gate Estates residents enjoy a variety of amenities including a heated swimming pool, a clubhouse that can be rented for private events, a large pond for fishing, half basketball court, and a tennis court.
There are also social events for children and adults throughout the year such as Bunco nights, progressive dinners, a pre-Trick-or-Treat pizza party, summer block parties, book club, Bible study, and the Ladies Holiday Auction.
This development also boasts direct access to the 34-mile Summit Bike and Hike Trail, which leads along the Cuyahoga Valley National Forest and through Summit, Cuyahoga and Portage counties. One trail runs just north of the community, with direct access from the entrance of Nottingham Gate Blvd. Another trail runs directly through the development, with access from Cheshire Rd or Abbyshire Dr.
This development features colonial as well as some cape cod and ranch homes that were constructed from 1993-2021 by builders including John Hershberger. A number of homes have since been updated/renovated.
Homes range from 2,300-5,200+ square feet with 3-6 bedrooms and 2.5-5.5 bathrooms.
Facades include transitional/soft contemporary, Georgian, Greek revival, and New England styles. Most front elevations are constructed with vinyl siding, but there are some partial or full brick fronts as well.

Homesites mostly range from .40 to 1.8 acres. There are both cleared and wooded lots, as well as those that back to adjacent wooded parcels or community common area.
In addition to the 6 acres occupying the pond, clubhouse and recreational amenities, this development also offers 18 acres of HOA-owned greenspace (designated in yellow on below map), to which some homes abut.
There are three entrances to Nottingham Gate Estates: from Terex Rd via Nottingham Gate Blvd, from Barlow Rd via Wilshire Park Dr, and from Barlow Hill Rd via Brookshire Dr.
In addition to the entrance streets, this subdivision also encompasses the streets of Abbyshire Dr, Cheshire Rd, and Knollshire Dr.
This community has curbs, acorn-shaped street lights, and treelawn saplings throughout. There are sidewalks on one or both sides of the street through much of the development.
Homes have both public water and public sewer — a rarity in Hudson!
It is serviced by the nationally acclaimed Hudson City School District. A number of private schools also serve the community, including Western Reserve Academy (grades 9-12), Seton Catholic School (K-8), and Hudson Montessori School (preschool-8th grade) — each located in Hudson; Old Trail School (preschool-8th grade) in Fairlawn; and Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy (grades 7-12) in Cuyahoga Falls.
