About White Horse Acres in Hudson

White Horse Acres, in northeastern Hudson Ohio, is a wooded community of roughly 60 homes adjacent to parkland. Homes were constructed from 1953-1984 and have since been updated.

These colonial, cape cod, and ranch homes range in size from 2,500-4,200 square feet with 4-5 bedrooms and 2.5-3.5+ bathrooms.

White Horse Acres homes are appointed with hardwood flooring, foyers with coat closets, formal dining rooms, formal living rooms and/or private libraries, large first-floor laundry rooms with utility tubs and cabinets, and fireplaced great rooms that are open to kitchens featuring granite or quartz countertops, breakfast bar seating, tile backsplash, dinette area, and sunroom or screened porch. Second-floor owner’s suites include walk-in closets, and en-suite bathrooms with walk-in showers, soaking tubs, dual sinks, and enclosed lavatories. Full finished lower levels are complete with media rooms, kitchenettes, bars, exercise rooms, and storage areas. Homes offer attached 2-3 car side-entry garages.

Backyards feature lush landscape beds, paver patios and/or composite decks, pergolas or gazebos, and fireplaces or fire pits.

Residences have public sewer and well water.

Homesites range from .58 to 1.6 acres. The majority of lots (particularly the southern section) are heavily treed, offering the ultimate in privacy.

A number of homes also abut the 15 acres of the common area (designated in yellow on map above), with one section including a pond.

The southeastern section borders a 98-acre parcel owned by Summit County Metro Parks and a 5-acre strip bordering the turnpike owned by Hudson parks for endless views of nature (parkland is designated in green on map).

Tributaries of Tinkers Creek Watershed (Cuyahoga River’s largest tributary) and Hudson Springs flow through and around this subdivision, offering opportunities for fishing and wildlife viewing.

There is one direct entrance to White Horse Acres off Hudson Aurora Rd via Huntington Rd. The entrance is flanked on both sides by a landscape bed with curved burgundy brick walls and white three-rail fencing that extends across the front of the community.

In addition to its entrance/main street of Huntington Rd, this development also encompasses Hayward Rd, the cul-de-sac streets of Blaikley Dr and Chippendale Dr, and three homes on Hudson Aurora Rd.

Homeowner’s Association (HOA) fees at White Horse Acres are approximately $144 annually.

This community is also accessible through the adjoining subdivision of Dillman Estates via Ashton Dr, which also has an entrance from Hudson Aurora Rd.

While not connected, White Horse Acres is bordered to the east by Wyndgate Farms (also called Ivy Hill Estates). Homes do not directly abut each other, as they are separated by forested common area (in yellow on map) or parkland.

The subdivision of White Horse Acres is located in northeastern Hudson Ohio (Summit County) off Hudson Aurora Rd, 0.4 miles east of Stow Rd, just north of I-80/Turnpike.

Highways are accessible in 4 min to I-480, 7 min to I-80/Turnpike, and 15 min to I-271.

This neighborhood is serviced by the nationally acclaimed Hudson City School District. The High School is a 4 min drive or less; the main school campus (Early Learning, Elementary, Intermediate, and Middle School) is less than a 7 min drive.

A number of nearby private schools also serve the community, including Western Reserve Academy (grades 9-12), Seton Catholic School (K-8), and Hudson Montessori School (preschool-8th grade) — each located in Hudson; Old Trail School (preschool-8th grade) in Fairlawn; and Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy (grades 7-12) in Cuyahoga Falls.

It’s a 6 min drive to First & Main in downtown Hudson, an upscale retail district with national chain stores along with locally-owned shops and restaurants. First & Main is also home to more than a dozen annual events in the park-like square.

You are 10 min from Summit Bike and Hike Trail (Silver Springs Trailhead), which offers 34 miles of trails past the Cuyahoga Valley National Forest and through Summit, Cuyahoga and Portage counties.

The 33,000-acre Cuyahoga Valley National Park is just 14 min away, which includes the Cuyahoga River and numerous waterfalls, the 87-mile Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail, and the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad.
