About Scenic View Estates in Hudson
Scenic View Estates is a community of 32 homes nestled along Darrow Road Park in northern Hudson, Ohio.
This subdivision is located 0.3 miles south of Middleton Rd, off the east side of Darrow Rd, and encompasses the cul-de-sac street of McShu Ln and the majority of homes on Edgeview Dr (house numbers 2001-2240).


Scenic View Estates homes were built from 1973-1998 by builders including Dennis Hargreaves and Ken Payne.
Facades showcase New England-style architecture including Colonial Revival, Dutch Colonial Revival, Federal, Greek Revival and Tudor Revival, as well as some transitional/soft contemporary styles. Front elevations are constructed with full vinyl or partial or full brick fronts (some homes boast full brick surround!).
These two-story homes range from 3,200-7,900 square feet with 4-6 bedrooms and 2.5-6.5+ bathrooms.
Homes are appointed with desirable amenities including first floor laundry rooms with utility tubs and cabinets, two-story foyers with open staircases, hardwood flooring, multiple fireplaces, extensive millwork, specialty ceilings, formal dining rooms, formal living rooms and/or private dens with built-ins, mud halls with built-ins, and fireplaced great rooms with large windows and vaulted or two-story ceilings that are open to updated kitchens featuring granite or quartz countertops, a center island, breakfast bar, tile backsplash, walk-in pantry, dinette area, and sunroom. Vaulted owner’s suites (most are second floor) include sitting areas, walk-in closets, and en-suite bathrooms with tiled walk-in showers, soaking tubs, dual sinks/vanities, and enclosed lavatories. Attached side-entry garages accommodate 2-3 cars.
Residences have public sewer and well water.

The development features scenic, varied rolling terrain.
The south side of the community abuts the heavily forested 60-acre Darrow Road Park, extending privacy and timbered views. Nature and fitness enthusiasts will appreciate the 10-min walk to its 1.25-mile nature trail, which is accessible from the parking lot off Darrow Rd or from Lascala Dr across from its intersection with Leeway Dr.
The entrance to Edgeview Dr is designated by a red brick signage wall.
As with many Hudson neighborhoods, this community does not have curbs or sidewalks.
Homeowner’s Association (HOA) fees at Scenic View Estates are approximately $100 annually.
To the east, Edgeview Dr adjoins Country Club Estates.

The subdivision of Scenic View Estates is located in northern Hudson, Ohio (Summit County), off the east side of Darrow Rd, 0.3 miles south of Middleton Rd.
Highways are accessible in 8 min to I-480, and 10 min to I-271 and I-80/Turnpike.
This neighborhood is serviced by the nationally acclaimed Hudson City School District. Close proximity to Hudson High School, Middle School, and Ellsworth Hill Elementary (all within a 6 min drive), means transporting the kids to school will be a breeze.
A number of private schools also serve the community, including Western Reserve Academy (grades 9-12), Seton Catholic School (K-8), and Hudson Montessori School (preschool-8th grade) — each located in Hudson; Old Trail School (preschool-8th grade) in Fairlawn; and Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy (grades 7-12) in Cuyahoga Falls.
It’s a 6 min drive to First & Main in downtown Hudson, an upscale retail district with national chain stores along with locally-owned shops and restaurants. First & Main is also home to more than a dozen annual events in the park-like square.
LifeCenter Plus is 9 min away, Hudson’s full-service four-season health and fitness facility with strength-training and cardio equipment, five pools including a warm water therapy pool plus an outdoor aquatic center, an indoor track, rock climbing wall, racquetball and pickleball courts, as well as cycling, pilates, yoga and Tai Chi studios.
The 33,000-acre Cuyahoga Valley National Park is just 9 min away, which includes the Cuyahoga River and numerous waterfalls, the 87-mile Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail, and the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad.
Golfers are only 9 min from the city-owned golf club, Ellsworth Meadows. If you’re looking for social membership and golf, you’re 3 min to Hudson Country Club and 8 min to Lake Forest Country Club.
Boston Mills and Brandywine Ski Resorts are a 15 min drive for skiing and tubing during the winter months.
