Connecticut Colony Homes

About Connecticut Colony in Hudson, Ohio
Connecticut Colony is a community of 94 custom-built homes with wooded lots and a neighborhood park in northwest Hudson, Ohio. The subdivision is located east of Valley View Rd, between Middleton Rd and E Hines Hill Rd. It comprises the streets of Darien Dr, Goshen Dr, Groton Dr, Mystic Dr, Saybrook Dr, Stonington Dr, Wethersfield Dr and Winsted Rd (named after cities in the state of Connecticut), as well as nine homes on Valley View Rd.

These homes were primarily built between 1955-1979, with the final few homes constructed thereafter until 2004.
Facades feature Neocolonial or Cape Cod designs.
Homes mainly range from 2,400-3,700 square feet with 3-5 bedrooms and 2.5-4 bathrooms.
Inside, homes are appointed with millwork, solid core doors, built-ins, front entry foyers, formal dining rooms, formal living rooms or private dens, sunrooms or 4-season rooms, fireplaced great rooms, and kitchens featuring granite or quartz countertops and a dinette area. Some homes have first-floor laundry rooms; otherwise, they are located on the lower level. Owner’s suites (most are second floor) include en-suite bathrooms with tiled walk-in showers. Full finished lower levels are complete with rec rooms, bars and storage areas. Attached side-entry garages accommodate 2-3 cars. Some homes also have a detached garage for additional parking.
Homes have well water and public sewer.
Backyards may be equipped with lush landscaping, custom patios, and even fire pits.
Generously sized homesites measure approximately 150′ wide and range from 0.59 to 0.99 acres.
Most lots are heavily wooded, encircling homes in natural privacy and offering lush views, shade, cooler alfresco enjoyment, and soothing birdsong.
The northwest end of the development abuts the nine-acre Middleton Park (designated in green on map above) with a half-basketball court, baseball field, pavilion and playground. It is directly accessible via the paved trail off Groton Dr.
A stream (dashed blue line on above map) meanders southward through the subdivision, presenting scenic sloping terrain. Stream-adjacent lots may have riparian setbacks.

There are two entrances: Winsted Rd off Middleton Rd, and the main entrance of Wethersfield Dr off Valley View Rd, which is ornamented by curved red brick walls.
Like many Hudson communities, streets do not have sidewalks or curbs.
Utilities are above ground.
Homeowner’s Association (HOA) fees at Connecticut Colony are approximately $25 annually.
Other nearby subdivisions include Chadds Ford, Connecticut Woods and Waterford Farms.
