Western Reserve Park in Hudson
Western Reserve Park is a community of 27 homes abutting a neighborhood park in northern Hudson, Ohio. The subdivision is located 0.6 miles south of Middleton Rd, off the east side of Darrow Rd, and encompasses Abner Ln and 16 homes near the western end of Herrick Park Dr (house numbers 7544 -7680).
Western Reserve Park is accessible through adjoining subdivisions: from Darrow Rd via Herrick Park Dr, from Hudson Aurora Rd via Herrick Park Dr through Woods of Western Reserve, and from Middleton Rd via Lascala Dr through Country Club Estates.


Homes were constructed from 1987-1990 by builders including Prestige Homes.
Facades are styled in the New England architectural tradition, featuring designs such as Georgian Revival, Tudor Revival, and Colonial Revival. Most front elevations are full vinyl, but there are some full brick fronts.
These two-story homes range in size from 3,000-4,600 square feet with 4-5 bedrooms and 2.5-4 bathrooms.
Homes are appointed with desirable amenities including first-floor laundry rooms with cabinets, two-story foyers with turned staircases, hardwood flooring, formal dining rooms, formal living rooms and/or private dens with built-ins, and fireplace great rooms with vaulted or wood-beamed ceilings that open to updated kitchens featuring granite or quartz countertops (some with breakfast bars), tile backsplash, walk-in pantry, dinette area, and sunroom/morning room or screened porch. Vaulted owner’s suites (second floor) include a walk-in closet and en-suite bathrooms with dual sinks/vanities. Full finished lower levels are complete with theater or media rooms, kitchenettes, bars, exercise rooms, and storage areas. Attached side-entry garages accommodate 2-3 cars.
Residences are serviced with public sewer and public water.
Homesites mainly range from 0.67 to 0.88 acres.
Partially to heavily wooded backyards feature patios and/or composite decks and fireplaces or fire pits.
The 60-acre Darrow Road Park borders this community to the north, with nine homes backing to its forest for endless views of nature. Nature and fitness enthusiasts will appreciate the park’s 1.25-mile walking trail. Entrances to the trail are located off the parking lot on Darrow Rd and off Lascala Dr across from its intersection with Leeway Dr ― both walkable in 10 min or less.
In 2021, curbs and sidewalks were added to the south side of Herrick Park Dr. However, there are no curbs or sidewalks along Abner Ln.
There are no mandatory Homeowner’s Association (HOA) fees at Western Reserve Park.

The subdivision of Western Reserve Park is located in northern Hudson, Ohio (Summit County), 0.6 miles south of Middleton Rd, off the east side of Darrow Rd.
Highways are accessible in 8 min to I-480, 9 min to I-80/Turnpike, and 11 min to I-271.
This neighborhood is served by the nationally acclaimed Hudson City School District. It is in proximity to Hudson High School, Middle School, and Elementary (all within a 6 min drive).
A number of nearby private schools also serve the community, including Western Reserve Academy (grades 9-12), Seton Catholic School (K-8), and Hudson Montessori School (preschool-8th grade) — each located in Hudson; Old Trail School (preschool-8th grade) in Fairlawn; and Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy (grades 7-12) in Cuyahoga Falls.
It’s a 5 min drive to First & Main in downtown Hudson, an upscale retail district with national chain stores along with locally-owned shops and restaurants. First & Main is also home to more than a dozen annual events in the park-like square.

About 7 min away is Hudson Springs Park with 260 acres, a 50-acre stocked lake for fishing or boating, 2.2 miles of shaded trails encircling the water, picnic pavilions, a disk golf course, horseshoe courts, volleyball courts, bocce ball court, and a playground.
You are 10 min from Summit Bike and Hike Trail (Barlow & Terex Trailhead), which offers 34 miles of trail traveling past the Cuyahoga Valley National Forest and through Summit, Cuyahoga and Portage counties.
The 33,000-acre Cuyahoga Valley National Park is just 9 min away, which includes the Cuyahoga River and numerous waterfalls, the 87-mile Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail, and the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad.
Golfers are only 10 min from the city-owned golf club, Ellsworth Meadows. If you’re looking for social membership and golf, you’re 4 min to Hudson Country Club and 8 min to Lake Forest Country Club.
Boston Mills and Brandywine Ski Resorts are a 15 min drive for skiing and tubing during the winter months.
