About Ledgewood in Strongsville
Ledgewood is a residential community in downtown Strongsville, Ohio, offering a scenic, heavily wooded parklike atmosphere, exclusive recreation amenities and adjacent Metroparks. This sprawling 360-acre neighborhood includes approximately 325 single-family homes and 200 cluster homes.

This subdivision is located near the northeast intersection of Pearl Rd and Royalton Rd. Single-family homes comprise the streets of Falling Water Rd (also spelled Fallingwater Rd), Falling Leaves Rd, Hillcliff Cir, Moss Point Rd, Moss Ridge Cir, Ridge Creek Rd, Ridge Park Cliff Rd, Ridgecliff Cir, River Moss Rd, River Ridge Rd, Ridge Point Cir, Sunridge Cir, The Bluffs, Windcliff Rd, Woodbriar Cir, Woodleaf Rd, and Woodridge Cir.

Single-Family Homes:
This subdivision was primarily constructed by the renowned, award-winning developer/home builder, Bob Schmitt, from 1968-1978.
Remaining homesites were constructed by various builders until the final home was built in 2024.
Single-family homes constructed by Bob Schmitt are predominantly mid-century modern and contemporary styles. Exteriors are designed with angular features, asymmetrical silhouettes, shallow-pitched sloping/gable rooflines, and Bob Schmitt’s signature vertical cedar paneling.
Ledgewood homes include ranch, split-level, bi-level, and some two-story floorplans primarily ranging from 1,900-3,800 square feet with 3-5 bedrooms and 2.5-3.5 bathrooms. There are also some larger homes up to 5,600 square feet.
Common features include post-and-beam construction, large open-concept living spaces, hardwood or LVP flooring, travertine and ceramic tile flooring, raised and/or sunken living areas, prominent floor-to-ceiling fireplaces of brick or stone (double-sided or full wall), and numerous double-wide sliding glass doors along the back of the home that welcome light and unhindered views of the forested landscape. Nearly all homes have slab-on-ground foundations, but a few have basements (particularly in newer homes).
Garages, either front or side-entry, accommodate 2-4 cars.
As a pioneer in energy-efficient building, Bob Schmitt homes are commonly all electric (heat pumps, electric stoves, electric fireplaces).
Backyards are appointed with covered or screened porches, multi-tiered decks, and/or patios for outdoor living.
Ledgewood single-family lots measure approximately 90′ to 100′ wide and generally range from 0.27 to 0.42 acres, but there are some larger lots ranging up to 2.62 acres.
Landscape & Topography:
Inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright’s emphasis on organic elements, a cornerstone of Bob Schmitt’s developments is the preservation of mature trees. As such, nearly every Ledgewood home is enveloped by a mature canopy of deciduous foliage, offering timbered views, privacy, and shade for significantly reduced cooling bills and cooler al fresco enjoyment on hot summer days.
Bob Schmitt’s developments dedicate roughly 25 percent of land to common areas like natural spaces and parks. Ledgewood homes are dispersed amongst wooded greenspace, either dedicated nature preserves/parkland (green areas on above-illustrated map) or common land owned by the HOA (yellow areas on map above), attracting songbirds and enhancing privacy and tranquil nature views. Recreational Amenities:
Typical of Bob Schmitt subdivisions, Ledgewood residents enjoy an array of recreational amenities including a clubhouse, Olympic-sized swimming pool with diving board, large wading pool, 2 tennis courts, a basketball court, playground, picnic area, community garden, and hiking trails. The pool and clubhouse are located at 17761 Falling Water Rd. The recreation park is located at 17960 Ledge Point Pl.









This neighborhood is accessible via Falling Water Rd, with entrances off both Pearl Rd and Royalton Rd (Route 82).

All streets are lined with curbs and sidewalks.

Homeowner’s Association (HOA) fees at Ledgewood are approximately $650 annually.
The HOA plans year-round family-friendly events including a Liberty Parade, Christmas in July celebration and Labor Day party that foster family togetherness.
Residences are served by Strongsville City Schools.

Ledgewood is a master-planned residential community in northeast Strongsville in the heart of downtown, located near the northeast corner of Pearl and Royalton Roads.
Highways are conveniently accessible in 6 min to I-71 and 8 min to I-80/Turnpike.
SouthPark Mall (on the opposite side of Royalton Rd) and Strongsville’s bustling retail sector is just minutes away.
Located adjacent to the subdivision, Strongsville Recreation & Senior Center is a 5 min drive, offering residents an indoor pool, sauna, steam room and whirlpool, massage therapy, ball courts, indoor elevated track, weight and exercise room, and game area with pool tables, ping pong, video games, air hockey and more.
As for parks, Strongsville has nine city parks with ball courts/fields, playgrounds, picnic areas, pavilions, and trails.
There’s also Mill Stream Run Reservation 8 min away, part of Cleveland Metroparks, where visitors can engage in hiking, horseback riding, archery, ziplining, axe throwing, and tobogganing.
