About Hunting Meadows in Strongsville

Hunting Meadows is a community of roughly 760 single-family homes convenient to restaurants, pharmacy, banking, grocery and retail, located in Strongsville Ohio, east of Pearl Rd, off Shurmer and Drake roads.

Homes were mainly built between 1973-1980, many of which have since been updated.

Floorplans include ranch, split-level and colonials ranging from 1,800-3,900 square feet with 3-5 bedrooms and 2.5-3.5 bathrooms.

Elevations include both contemporary and traditional designs of full brick, full vinyl, or partial brick.

Common features include hardwood or LVP flooring, large principal living areas, formal dining rooms, formal living rooms, and fireplaced great rooms (some with beamed ceilings and wet bars), and kitchens with quartz or granite countertops, tile backsplash, pantry, and dinette area with slider to backyard. Second-level owner’s suites have walk-in closets and en-suite bathrooms with enclosed commodes. Homes with finished basements (bi-level homes are slab) offer media rooms, bars, billiard areas, and/or workout rooms. Garages, most are front-entry, accommodate 2-3 cars. Backyards are appointed with composite decks and/or stamped patios.

Homesites generally range from 0.27 to 0.35 acres, many with private treed backyards.

Roughly 16 homes abut the wooded 16-acre Gardenview Horticultural Park (green parcel on above map).

In 2012, the city sealed sanitary sewer joints to curb issues with sanitary sewer backups previously affecting homes during storms.

There are five entrances to Hunting Meadows: Hunting Meadows Dr and Fox Hollow Dr from Shurmer Rd; and Bear Creek Ln, Deer Path Dr, and Quail Hollow Dr from Drake Rd. Each has a landscape bed with signage surrounded by garden stones.

In addition to its entrance streets, this development also encompasses homes on Antler Ln, Badger Den Ln, Beaver Cir, Bob White Cir, Deerfield Dr, Doe Cir, Eagles Nest Cir, Fawn Cir, Grouse Run Pl, Hawks Lookout Ln, Mallard Cir, Partridge Dr, Pheasant Trl, Quail Hollow Dr, Rabbit Run Dr, Raccoon Trl, Ringneck Cir, Squirrel Hollow Ln, Stag Thicket Ln, Turkey Meadow Ln, Wolf Run Cir, Lanier Ave (house numbers 16699 and higher), 23 homes on Drake Rd (even house numbers 17648-18446), and the streets of N Meadows Ln and S Meadows Cir (also referred to as “Meadows East”). The east side of S Meadows Cir abuts a vacant 16-acre parcel owned by the Board of Education.

There are lantern-style streetlights, street trees, curbs, and sidewalks on both sides of the street throughout the development.

There are Homeowner’s Association (HOA) fees at Hunting Meadows.

The development surrounds but is not connected to the Hampton Chase subdivision.

Hunting Meadows adjoins the community of Apple Creek to the east.

Hunting Meadows is located in southcentral Strongsville, east of Pearl Rd, between Shurmer Rd and Drake Rd.

Highways are conveniently accessible in 8 min to I-71 and 12 min to I-80/Turnpike.

Strongsville’s bustling retail sector and SouthPark Mall are ≤7 min away.

The Ehrnfelt Recreation and Senior Center is a 9 min drive, offering residents a pool, sauna, steam room and whirlpool, massage therapy, ball courts, indoor elevated track, weight and exercise room, and game area with pool tables, ping pong, video games, air hockey and more.

As for parks, Strongsville has nine city parks with ball courts/fields, playgrounds, picnic areas, pavilions, and trails.

There’s also Mill Stream Run Reservation 9 min away, part of Cleveland Metroparks, where visitors can engage in hiking, horseback riding, archery, ziplining, axe throwing, and tobogganing at The Chalet on the tallest, fastest toboggan ice chutes in Ohio.

Golfers are 10-14 minutes from a variety of courses including Columbia Hills, Coppertop, Hickory Nut, Pine Hills, Royal Crest, and Valleaire.
