Sunwood Oval in Strongsville Ohio is a charming single-street community of 36 limited-maintenance detached cluster homes. As a sub-association of Deerfield Lake, residents have access to its family-friendly amenities.

Sunwood Oval cluster homes were built by Summer Hill Homes between 1994-1995. Most have since been updated.

These single-standing homes are available a cape cod and colonial styles that range from 1,700-2,500 square feet with 2-3 bedrooms and 2-3 bathrooms.

Brick-accented facades are adorned with covered front entryways. Inside, features include first-floor laundry rooms, formal dining area, great room with vaulted or two-story ceilings, kitchens with pantry and dinette area, sunrooms, and second-floor lofts. Owner’s suites have en-suite bathrooms with dual sinks, soaking/jetted tubs and a walk-in shower. Most have a slab foundation. Front-entry garages accommodate 2 cars and include an attic. Backyards are appointed with patios and privacy fencing.

Homesites mainly range from .12 to .23 acres with treed backyards.

These cluster homes occupy the street of Sunwood Oval, which is a U-shaped with two entrances. The entrances are off the north side of Boston Rd just west of Howe Rd. Each is flanked by a landscape bed with red brick signage walls between pillars topped by spherical capping stones.

As a single-street community with no connection to another development, traffic is limited to residents and their guests.

The community has curbs and sidewalks on one side of the street.

Post is delivered to a cluster mailbox unit.

Homes near the front of the community are shielded from the main road by an earth berm with mature trees (yellow parcels within the orange border on above map).

Bordering the subdivision to the north and west are the homes of Deerfield Lake.

To the north is the main community of Deerfield Lake. The main recreation area (a 4 min drive, 7 min bike, or 25 min walk from Sunwood Oval) is located at 17144 Golden Star Dr and includes a 75′ x 45′ rectangular pool and a 15′ x 20′ wading pool, two tennis courts, a playground, multi-purpose field, large catch-and-release pond, and an octagonal clubhouse that residents can reserve for events. The clubhouse’s striking interior (pictured below) has wood paneling, skylights, and a stairway built on a sloping tree trunk.

The southern recreation area (an 8 min walk from Sunwood Oval) is an 11.88-acre parcel with an open meadow, play structure, swings, a tennis court, and a wooded walking path encircling a catch-and-release pond. This area is accessible through the field between 19417 & 19449 Misty Lake Dr.

Homeowner’s Association (HOA) fees at Sunwood Oval are approximately $136/month, which include landscaping and snow removal, plus $350/annually for the recreation amenities of Deerfield Lake.

Sunwood Oval is located in southeast Strongsville along the border of Brunswick. The entrance is off the north side of Boston Rd, 0.3 miles west of Howe Rd.

Highways are accessible in 9 min to I-71 and 13 min to I-80/Turnpike.

SouthPark Mall and Strongsville’s bustling retail sector is roughly 7 min away.
