Forest Park Homes

About Forest Park in Strongsville
Forest Park is a Bob Schmitt* community of approximately 170 single-family homes with exceptional recreational amenities adjacent to forested Metroparks in Strongsville, Ohio.
This subdivision is situated immediately south of I-80/Turnpike off Handle Rd and Webster Rd. It comprises the streets of Circle Ridge, Emerald Edge Pl, Forest Park Dr, Forest Point Pl, High Point, Park Moss Ave, Park Point, Pine Tree Pl, Pleasant Ridge Pl, Point Overlook Pl, and Timber Edge Pl.

*Main Community:
Forest Park homes were primarily constructed by the renowned, award-winning developer/home builder, Bob Schmitt, between 1970-1977.
These homes are predominantly ranch and split-level floorplans, with a few two-story plans that mainly range from 1,600-2,800 square feet with 2-5 bedrooms and 2-3.5 bathrooms.
Homes feature traditional and contemporary designs, many with Schmitt’s signature vertical cedar paneling.
Common features in these Bob Schmitt homes include post-and-beam construction, hardwood or LVP flooring, tile flooring, main-floor laundry rooms with cabinets and utility tubs, open-concept living rooms and formal dining areas, bonus/family rooms, numerous fireplaces, and oversized windows and/or double-wide sliding glass doors along the back of the home that welcome light and unhindered views of backyard foliage. Sleeping quarters are separated from the main living areas for added privacy. Owner’s suites feature walk-in closets and en-suite bathrooms. Most homes are slab-on-ground, but a few have basements. Finished lower levels can include living areas and bars.
A pioneer in energy-efficient building, many homes are all electric (heat pumps, electric stoves, electric fireplaces).
Attached front or side-entry garages accommodate 2 cars.
Lots measure approximately 90-100′ wide and primarily range from 0.31 to 0.46 acres. There are also some larger lots up to 1.38 acres.
Backyards are appointed with covered or screened porches, multi-tiered decks, and/or patios.
During development, Bob Schmitt made an effort to preserve as many mature trees as possible. As such, many Forest Park homesites have lightly treed or wooded yards, attracting songbirds and offering privacy, shade and tranquil nature views.
Much of the southwest side of the community is enriched by scenic sloping or ravined topography. This dramatic terrain impacts the rear properties along Emerald Edge Pl, Forest Point Pl, Park Moss Ave cul-de-sac, Park Point, Pleasant Ridge Pl (cul-de-sac and south side of street), and Point Overlook Pl.
Homes along the southwest edge of the development abut the Metroparks’ lush forest (green area on above-illustrated map), offering endless views of nature, enhanced privacy, and wildlife sightings.
Timber Ridge Estates:
The north end and cul-de-sac of Timber Edge Pl (aka Timber Ridge Estates) are a newer enclave of 10 lots that have been adopted by the Forest Park community and granted access to its recreational amenities.
These homes were constructed from 2003-2020 by builders including Sweet Briar Homes.
These homes include two-story styles and one ranch home, and range from 2,400-4,200 square feet with 2-4 bedrooms and 2.5-3.5 bathrooms.
Facades are constructed with full vinyl or brick accents.
First floors feature hardwood or LVP flooring, laundry rooms with cabinets and utility tubs, formal dining rooms with tray ceilings, private dens and/or living rooms, and fireplaced great rooms (some are vaulted) that open to kitchens with quartz or granite countertops, a center island, breakfast bar, pantry and dinette area. Second-floor owner’s suites (some with vaulted ceilings) have walk-in closets and en-suite bathrooms with quartz or granite dual sink vanities, a tiled walk-in shower, soaking/jetted tub, and enclosed commode. Full finished lower levels offer living rooms, bars, and workout rooms.
Other than the ranch home with a 3-car side-entry garage, homes have front-entry garages that accommodate 2 cars.
Backyards feature composite decks and/or stamped patios.
Backyards may be cleared, partially treed, or have a treeline.
Timber Ridge Estates lots range from 0.25 to 0.36 acres.
Community Amenities:
True to Bob Schmitt developments, Forest Park includes common area space with recreational amenities (large yellow parcel on illustrated map above). Residents enjoy a clubhouse, Olympic-sized swimming pool, wading pool, tennis court, pickleball court, half-basketball court, sand volleyball court, play structure, and nature trails (along the ravine behind the pool) located at 11610 Park Moss Ave . The community also has a swim team for kids and teens.

There are two entrances to this neighborhood: from the east side of Handle Rd via Forest Park Dr, and from the west side of Webster Rd via High Point Rd. The main entrance on Forest Park Dr has a divided median with landscaping and masonry signage. The median continues along the entire length of the street.

Streets are lined by curbs and sidewalks.
Circle Ridge, Emerald Edge Pl, Forest Point Pl, Park Moss Ave, Park Point, Pine Tree Pl, Pleasant Ridge Pl, Point Overlook Pl, and Timber Edge Pl have cul-de-sacs.
To the east, Park Moss Ave adjoins The Ledges of Avery Walden cluster homes.
Residences are served by Strongsville City Schools.
Homeowner’s Association (HOA) fees at Forest Park (also required by Timber Ridge Estates residents) are approximately $580 annually.
