Woodland Estates in Hudson
Cambridge Woods is a single-street community of twelve custom-built homes in northern Hudson, Ohio, walkable to Ellsworth Hill Elementary. The subdivision comprises the cul-de-sac street of Greenthorn Drive, located a half-mile west of Stow Rd, off the south side of Middleton Rd.


These custom-built homes were constructed from 1986-1989.
Homes feature distinctive facades of which no two are alike. They include architecture reflecting historical New England homes, including a Maryland farmhouse, a reproduction of the Connecticut home of architect Asher Benjamin, and a replica of a limestone home built in 1749 by Sir William Johnson on the Mohawk River in colonial Amsterdam, NY.
Cambridge Woods colonial homes mainly range from 3,000-4,400 square feet with 4-5 bedrooms and 2.5-3.5 bathrooms.
Inside, homes are appointed with desirable modern amenities including first-floor laundry rooms with utility tubs and cabinets, two-story foyers with turned staircases, hardwood flooring, multiple fireplaces, formal dining rooms and living rooms with crown moulding, private dens with built-ins, and fireplaced great rooms with beamed or vaulted ceilings that open to updated kitchens with granite or quartz countertops, a breakfast bar, tile backsplash, dinette area, and sunroom. Vaulted owner’s suites include walk-in closets and en-suite bathrooms with walk-in showers, soaking tubs, and dual sinks or vanities. Full finished lower levels are complete with theater or media rooms, kitchenettes, bars, exercise rooms, and storage areas. Attached side-entry garages accommodate 2-4 cars.
Residences are serviced with public sewer and well water.
Backyards feature lush landscaping, custom patios and/or composite decks, covered living areas, and fireplaces or fire pits.
Homesites measure approximately 145′ wide and range from 0.67 to 0.85
Lots are partially to heavily wooded, offering timbered views, privacy, shade and soothing birdsong.
The west side of the community backs to wooded conservation area surrounding the neighboring development (yellow parcel on above map), extended forested views and privacy.
A charming stacked stone pony wall extends along the front of the community on Middleton Rd. A backdrop of mature trees provides privacy from the main road.
Greenthorn Drive does not have curbs or sidewalks, as is typical of most Hudson neighborhoods. However, there are sidewalks along Middleton Road.
There are no Homeowner’s Association (HOA) fees at Cambridge Woods.
This community is bordered to the south and east by Hudson Park Estates, and to the west by Woodland Estates.

The subdivision of Cambridge Woods encompasses Greenthorn Dr, located in northern Hudson, Ohio (Summit County), a half-mile west of Stow Rd off Middleton Rd.
Highways are accessible in 6 min to I-480, 8 min to I-80/Turnpike, and 13 min to I-271.
This neighborhood is served by the nationally acclaimed Hudson City School District. Close proximity to Hudson High School, Middle School, and Ellsworth Hill Elementary (all within a 6 min drive), as well as other local private schools, means transporting the kids to school will be a breeze.
A number of private schools serve the community, including Western Reserve Academy (grades 9-12), Seton Catholic School (K-8), and Hudson Montessori School (preschool-8th grade) — each located in Hudson; Old Trail School (preschool-8th grade) in Fairlawn; and Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy (grades 7-12) in Cuyahoga Falls.
It’s a 7 min drive to First & Main in downtown Hudson, an upscale retail district with national chain stores along with locally-owned shops and restaurants. First & Main is also home to more than a dozen annual events in the park-like square.
LifeCenter Plus is 11 min away, Hudson’s full-service four-season health and fitness facility with strength-training and cardio equipment, five pools including a warm water therapy pool plus an outdoor aquatic center, an indoor track, rock climbing wall, racquetball and pickleball courts, as well as cycling, pilates, yoga and Tai Chi studios.
The 60-acre Darrow Road Park is a 4 min drive (to parking lot on Darrow Rd) where nature and fitness enthusiasts will appreciate its 1.25-mile walking trail. An entrance to the trail is also located off Lascala Dr across from its intersection with Leeway Dr (a 17 min walk).
About 6 min away is Hudson Springs Park with 260 acres, a 50-acre stocked lake for fishing or boating, 2.2 miles of shaded trails encircling the water, picnic pavilions, a disk golf course, horseshoe courts, volleyball courts, bocce ball court, and a playground.
You are 12 min from Summit Bike and Hike Trail (both the Barlow & Terex Trailhead and also Silver Springs Lot Trailhead), which offers 34 miles past the Cuyahoga Valley National Forest and through Summit, Cuyahoga and Portage counties.
The 33,000-acre Cuyahoga Valley National Park is just 10 min away, which includes the Cuyahoga River and numerous waterfalls, the 87-mile Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail, and the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad.
Golfers are only 10 min from the city-owned golf club, Ellsworth Meadows. If you’re looking for social membership and golf, you’re 3 min to Hudson Country Club and 9 min to Lake Forest Country Club.
Boston Mills and Brandywine Ski Resorts are a 17 min drive for skiing and tubing during the winter months.
