Sunwood Oval is a charming single-street community of 36 detached limited-maintenance cluster homes in Strongsville, Ohio. As a sub-association of Deerfield Lake, residents have access to its family-friendly amenities.
This development is 0.3 miles west of Howe Rd off the north side of Boston Rd, comprising the street of Sunwood Ov.
Sunwood Oval cluster homes were built by Summer Hill Homes between 1994-1995. Most have since been updated.
These single-standing cluster homes are available as cape cod and colonial styles that range from 1,700-2,500 square feet with 2-3 bedrooms and 2-3 bathrooms.
Brick-accented facades are adorned with covered front entryways. Inside, features include first-floor laundry rooms, formal dining area, great room with vaulted or two-story ceilings, kitchens with pantry and dinette area, sunrooms, and second-floor lofts. Owner’s suites have en-suite bathrooms with dual sinks, soaking/jetted tubs and a walk-in shower. Most have a slab foundation. Front-entry garages accommodate 2 cars and include an attic. Backyards are appointed with patios and privacy fencing.
Homesites measure approximately 49-57′ wide and mainly range from 0.12 to 0.23 acres with treed backyards.
Sunwood Ov is a U-shaped with two entrances off the north side of Boston Rd, just west of Howe Rd. Entrances are flanked by a landscape bed with red brick signage walls and pillars topped by spherical capping stones.
As a single-street community with no connection to another development, traffic is limited to residents and their guests.
The community has curbs and sidewalks on one side of the street.
Post is delivered to a cluster mailbox unit.
Homes near the front of the community are shielded from the main road by an earth berm with mature trees (yellow parcels within the orange border on above map).
To the north is the main community of Deerfield Lake single-family homes. The main recreation area (a 4 min drive, 7 min bike, or 25 min walk from Sunwood Oval) is located at 17144 Golden Star Dr and includes a 75′ x 45′ rectangular pool and a 15′ x 20′ wading pool, two tennis courts, a playground, multi-purpose field, large catch-and-release pond, and an octagonal clubhouse that residents can reserve for events. The clubhouse’s striking interior (pictured above) has wood paneling, skylights, and a stairway built on a sloping tree trunk.
The southern recreation area (an 8 min walk from Sunwood Oval) is an 11.88-acre parcel with an open meadow, play structure, swings, a tennis court, and a wooded walking path encircling a catch-and-release pond. This area is accessible through the field between 19417 & 19449 Misty Lake Dr.
Homeowner’s Association (HOA) fees at Sunwood Oval are approximately $185/month, which include landscaping and snow removal, plus $500/annually for the recreation amenities of Deerfield Lake.
