Sherwood Highlands in North Royalton Ohio is a scenic community of roughly 250 luxury homes. Most homes were built by Sherwood Construction between 1985-1999, with the final few homes constructed from 2013-2017. Many homes have since been updated.

The majority of these grand estates are colonial, but there are also some ranch styles as well. Homes range mainly from 3,000-6,500 square feet, but there are a few larger homes up to 9,900 square feet. Homes have 3–5 bedrooms and 2.5–4.5+ bathrooms.

Regal facades are styled as traditional stately full-brick/stone, cedar and brick Tudor, English or French country, and Victorian-inspired. There are even some rarely found full-brick homes.

Homes in Sherwood Highlands are exquisitely appointed with open floorplans, dramatic two-story foyers with curved staircases, hardwood flooring, ceramic and limestone flooring, two-story/vaulted great rooms with fireplaces and floor-to-ceiling windows, formal dining rooms, private dens with built-ins, and second-floor lofts/bonus rooms. Large kitchens feature an oversized island, breakfast bar seating, walk-in pantry, and dinette area and/or morning room. First or second-floor owner’s suites include sitting areas, walk-in closets, fireplaces and glamour baths with walk-in showers, soaking tubs, dual sinks/vanities, and enclosed lavatories. Finished lower levels (many are coveted walk-outs) have media rooms, kitchenettes, bars, and exercise rooms. Attached side-entry garages accommodate 2 to 4+ cars. Outdoor living is enhanced by custom patios and/or decks, firepits, verandas, and professional landscaping.

Generous homesites are mostly sized from .39 to .92 acres, with a few homes on lots of 1+ acres. Many homes have lightly treed or private wooded backyards, attracting songbirds and providing privacy, shade and significantly cooler al fresco entertaining on hot summer days.

This community is within the Big Creek watershed, with several streams (dashed blue lines on above map) crossing properties, which is generally considered an environmental asset by enhancing the natural setting, offering scenic ravined topography, and increasing wildlife sightings.

Sherwood Highlands, North Royalton Ohio entrance on Queens Way

There are four entrances to Sherwood Highlands: two entrances off Ridge Rd via Irongate Dr and Queens Way, as well as Castle Dr from State Rd, and Parliament Dr from Wallings Rd. The main entrance of Queens Way is flanked on both sides by landscaped beds and stately curved red brick walls with lantern-topped columns.

The development also encompasses the streets of Cambridge Cir, Crossbow Ct, Devonshire Dr, Drawbridge Cir, Kings Way, Knights Way, Sherwood Trail, Stone Hinge Cir, Tudor Cir, Winchester Ct, and one home on Ridge Rd just north of Queens Way.

There are curbs and sidewalks on both sides of the street throughout the community. Its winding streets have mature street trees, creating a peaceful park-like environment.

There are no HOA fees in this community.

It is serviced by the highly-rated North Royalton City School district.

Nearby communities include Royal Valley and Southampton Woods.

Convenient Location

The development of Sherwood Highlands is located in northwestern North Royalton, Ohio. It is located off Wallings Rd, between State and Ridge roads, with entrances off each.

I-77 is conveniently an 11 min drive east.

Located at the intersection of Wallings and State roads is a Drug Mart, Hop Hing Chinese takeout, Blue Monkey Brewing Company, Cleats sports bar, Joe D’s Beverage, Marco’s Pizza, and Sunoco gas station.

The North Royalton YMCA is also in this area, featuring a gymnasium with premium free-weights and exercise equipment, cycling studio, yoga studio, an elevated 1/12 mile walking/running track, two-court basketball gymnasium, aquatics center, and an outdoor playground.

As for parks, The Metroparks Mill Stream Run Reservation is 12 min away with trails, rope courses and zip lines, as well as The Chalet, which has two toboggan chutes that are open in the winter. Brecksville Reservation, the largest of the 18 Cleveland Metroparks reservations, offering excellent trails with scenic gorges and waterfalls, is 15 min east. Cuyahoga Valley National Park is 16 min away, offering 33,000-acres with hiking trails, bike paths, a scenic railroad, and a vast array of flora & fauna.

If you’re a golfer, you are only 10 min to Briarwood, 12 min to Ironwood, 13 min to Seneca and Hinckley Hills, and 15 min to Pine Hills and Sleepy Hollow Golf Courses.

It is within the highly-rated North Royalton City Schools district.
