Sherwood Highlands is a scenic community of roughly 250 custom-built luxury homes in North Royalton, Ohio, located north of Wallings Rd, between State Rd and Ridge Rd. This subdivision comprises the streets of Cambridge Cir, Castle Dr, Crossbow Ct, Devonshire Dr, Drawbridge Cir, Irongate Dr, Kings Way, Knights Way, Parliament Dr, Queens Way, Sherwood Trl, Stone Hinge Cir, Tudor Cir, Winchester Ct, and one residence at 10441 Ridge Rd.

Most homes were built by Sherwood Construction between 1985-1999, with the final few homes constructed from 2013-2017. Many homes have since been updated.

The majority of these grand estates are two-stories, but there are also some ranch styles. Homes primarily range from 3,000-6,500 square feet with 3-5 bedrooms and 2.5-4.5+ bathrooms, but there are a few larger homes up to 9,900 square feet.

Elevations feature Colonial Revival, English and French Country, Transitional, Tudor and Victorian-inspired architecture. Most facades are constructed with stately full-brick/stone. There are even some rarely found full-surround brick homes.

Sherwood Highlands homes are exquisitely appointed with hardwood or LVP flooring, ceramic and limestone tile, first floor laundry rooms, dramatic two-story foyers with curved staircases, formal dining rooms, private dens with built-ins, and two-story/vaulted great rooms with fireplaces and floor-to-ceiling windows that open to large kitchens featuring an oversized island, breakfast bar, walk-in pantry, dinette area and/or morning room. First or second-floor owner’s suites include sitting areas, walk-in closets, fireplaces, and glamour bathrooms with custom tiled walk-in showers, soaking tubs, dual sinks/vanities, and enclosed lavatories. Second floors may have lofts or bonus rooms. Finished lower levels (many are coveted walkouts!) have media rooms, kitchenettes, bars, and exercise rooms.

Attached side-entry garages enhance curb appeal and accommodate 2 to 4 cars.

Living is extended outdoors with custom patios and/or composite decks, firepits, verandas, and professional landscaping.

Many lots have lightly treed or private wooded backyards, attracting songbirds and providing privacy, shade and significantly cooler al fresco entertaining on hot summer days.

Lots measure approximately 100′ wide and are primarily sized from 0.39 to 0.92 acres. A few homes have lots of 1+ acres.

Several streams within Big Creek watershed intersect the development (dashed blue lines on above-illustrated map), enhancing the natural setting, offering scenic rolling or ravined topography and opportunities for wildlife sightings.

Sherwood Highlands, North Royalton Ohio entrance on Queens Way

There are four entrances to Sherwood Highlands: Irongate Dr and Queens Way off Ridge Rd, Castle Dr from State Rd, and Parliament Dr from Wallings Rd. The main entrance of Queens Way is flanked by landscaped beds and stately curved red brick signage walls with lantern-topped columns.

There are curbs and sidewalks on both sides of the street throughout the community, offering plenty of pavement to bike, skate or walk the dog.

Its winding streets are lined with mature street trees, creating a scenic streetscape. Tudor Cir tree lawns are particularly picturesque, lined by flowering pear trees that explode with dazzling clouds of pure white blossoms every spring and heart-shaped foliage that turns deep shades of red, orange, and purple come fall.

Cambridge Cir, Crossbow Ct, Drawbridge Cir, Knights Way, Stone Hinge Cir, Tudor Cir, and Winchester Ct have permanant cul-de-sacs. Kings Way has a partial (aka knuckle) cul-de-sac.

The south end of Sherwood Trl has an incomplete cul-de-sac with a vacant parcel to south.

There are no HOA fees in this community!

Residences are served by the highly-rated North Royalton City School District.

Conveniently located at the intersection of Wallings and State Roads is a Drug Mart, Hop Hing Chinese takeout, Blue Monkey Brewing Company, Cleats sports bar, Joe D’s Beverage, Marco’s Pizza, and Sunoco gas station. The North Royalton YMCA is also on this corner, featuring a gymnasium with premium free-weights and exercise equipment, cycling studio, yoga studio, an elevated 1/12 mile walking/running track, a two-court basketball gymnasium, aquatics center, and an outdoor playground.

As for parks, The Metroparks Mill Stream Run Reservation is 12 min away with trails, rope courses and zip lines, and toboggan chutes. Brecksville Reservation, the largest of the 18 Cleveland Metroparks reservations, offering excellent trails with scenic gorges and waterfalls, is 15 min east. Cuyahoga Valley National Park is 16 min away, offering 33,000-acres with hiking trails, bike paths, a scenic railroad, and a vast array of flora & fauna.

If you’re a golfer, you are only 10 min to Briarwood, 12 min to Ironwood, 13 min to Seneca and Hinckley Hills, and 15 min to Pine Hills and Sleepy Hollow Golf Courses.
