About Secluded Highlands in Hinckley and Richfield

Secluded Highlands is an esteemed community featuring roughly 45 custom-built luxury homes surrounded by scenic rolling terrain and lush parkland.

This subdivision is located 0.6 miles north of W Streetsboro Rd, off the west side of Oviatt Rd, and includes addresses in both Hinckley Township and Richfield Township. It comprises the residential streets of Dunheath Dr, Highland Mist Cir, White Horse Trl (also spelled Whitehorse), Northern Light Cir, and two homes on Oviatt Rd (house numbers 4226 & 4266).

Homes were custom-built beginning in 1990. Builders include Eli Miller, George Ford, and Stephen Moore.

These exquisite ranch and two-story homes primarily range from 3,300-8,400 square feet with 3-5 bedrooms and 4-6.5 bathrooms.

They are elegantly appointed with desirable amenities including soaring custom ceilings, hardwood and LVP flooring, custom millwork, and solid wood doors. Principal rooms include mudrooms with built-ins, first-floor laundry rooms with cabinets and utility tubs, dramatic two-story foyers with open staircases, formal living and dining rooms, private dens with built-ins, guest/in-law suites, and two-story great rooms with fireplaces and floor-to-ceiling windows that open to large kitchens featuring expansive granite or quartzite countertops, a breakfast bar, top-of-the-line appliances, butler’s pantry, walk-in pantry, dinette area, and hearth or morning room. First-floor owner’s suites include vaulted ceilings, a sitting area, fireplace, walk-in closets, and spa-like baths with custom tiled walk-in showers, soaking tubs, dual vanities, makeup vanity, and enclosed commode. Finished lower levels (some are coveted walk-outs!) are complete with media/theater rooms, kitchens/kitchenettes, bars, wine cellars, and exercise rooms.

Side-entry garages, many of which are heated and have epoxy flooring, accommodate 3-5+ cars.

Homes have well water and septic systems.

Backyards feature outdoor living oases enhanced with professional landscaping, custom patios, covered porches, brick fire pits or fireplaces, outdoor kitchens, and even private pools with pool houses/cabanas.

Homesites measure ≥175′ wide and range from 2.0 to 8.82 acres. There is also one home on 17 acres.

Most lots are heavily wooded, shrouding homes with timbered front, side and backyards, offering the ultimate in natural privacy, shade and birdsong.

Homes encircling the 7+ acre stocked lake in the center of the community boast serene water views and on-site fishing, kayaking and paddleboarding.

⚠️The Rocky River East Branch meanders near the western end of the community, offering scenic ravined topography and opportunities for wildlife viewing. Adjacent properties may be near designated flood hazards. View FEMA Flood Map.

Other smaller streams (not pictured on maps) intersect multiple properties, presenting gently to dramatically rolling terrain, where there may be riparian setbacks.

Secluded Highlands surrounding parkland

Aptly named, Secluded Highlands is enveloped in nearly every direction by forested parkland (designated in green on above maps). Bordering the community to the north, west, and southwest are 315 acres of passive parkland belonging to Cleveland Metroparks’ Hinckley Reservation. Abutting its northeast end is the Metroparks’ 44.7-acre Rising Valley Park with picnic areas, pavilions, playgrounds, ball fields, hiking trails, a sledding hill, and cross-country skiing trails. On the opposite side of Oviatt Rd is Richfield Heritage Preserve, offering 336 acres of wooded hiking trails, including a portion of the Buckeye Trail, winding streams, two lakes for fishing and non-motorized watersports, and a horse barn with five miles of bridle trails.
