Homes were custom-built between 1990-2008, with the final few lots purchased in 2020 and 2021. Each home was individually designed and custom-built by builders including Scholz Design.

The entrance street of River Woods Dr is off the north side of Center Rd, 0.2 miles west of Rive RD. It is flanked on both sides by landscaped beds with stacked stone signage between staggered pillars. In the center of the street is a divided median with landscaping. On either side of the street are mature pines, providing privacy to the front of the community.

This community also encompasses the streets of River Ridge Oval and the private drive, Holt Ln As with most Hinckley developments, there are no curbs or sidewalks. The cul-de-sacs of River Woods Dr and River Ridge Oval have a landscaped island in the center.

Homeowner’s Association (HOA) fees at River Woods Estates are approximately $450 annually.

This neighborhood is serviced by the highly-rated Highland Local School District along with bussing to St. Albert the Great School and the prestigious Old Trail School. Hinckley Elementary is just west of the subdivision off Ridge Rd.

Hinckley Reservation is also home to the annual festival known as Buzzard’s Day, which celebrates the return of the turkey vulture to the area around mid-March. The Metroparks’ Mill Stream Run Reservation is 14 min away with trails, rope courses and zip lines, as well as The Chalet, which has two toboggan chutes that are open in the winter. Cuyahoga Valley National Park is 15 min away with 33,000-acres including the Cuyahoga River and numerous waterfalls, the 87-mile Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail, and the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad.

If you’re a golfer, this is a prime location with only 9 min to Pine Hills, 7 min to Valleaire and Ironwood, 6 min to Hinckley Hills, 11 min to Briarwood, and 14 min to Seneca Golf Course.
