About Secluded Highlands in Hinckley and Richfield
Secluded Highlands is a community spanning both Hinckley and Richfield addresses with roughly 45 custom-built luxury homes surrounded by lush parkland. It is located off the west side of Oviatt Rd, 0.6 miles north of W Streetsboro Rd and encompasses the streets of Dunheath Dr, Highland Mist Cir, White Horse Trl (also spelled Whitehorse), Northern Light Cir, and two homes on Oviatt Rd (house numbers 4226 & 4266).
Homes were built beginning in 1990, with some undeveloped lots as of late 2024. Builders include Eli Miller, George Ford, and Stephen Moore.
Homes mainly range from 3,300-8,400 square feet with 3-5 bedrooms and 4-6.5 bathrooms. They are elegantly appointed with desirable amenities including open floorplans, soaring custom ceilings, hardwood and ceramic tile flooring, custom millwork, and solid wood doors. Principal rooms include mudrooms with built-ins, first-floor laundry rooms with cabinets and utility tubs, dramatic two-story foyers with open staircases, formal living and dining rooms, private dens with built-ins, guest/in-law suites, and two-story great rooms with fireplaces and floor-to-ceiling windows that open to large kitchens featuring expansive granite or quartzite countertops, tile backsplash, breakfast bar, top-of-the-line appliances, butler’s pantry, walk-in pantry, dinette area, and hearth or morning room. First-floor owner’s suites include vaulted ceilings, a sitting area, fireplace, walk-in closets, and spa-like baths with custom tiled walk-in showers, soaking tubs, dual vanities, makeup vanity, and enclosed commode. Finished lower levels (some are coveted walk-outs!) are complete with media/theater rooms, kitchens/kitchenettes, bars, wine cellars, and exercise rooms. Homes offer 3-5+ car garages, many of which are heated and have epoxy flooring.
Homes have well water and septic systems.
Backyards are outdoor living oases enhanced with professional landscaping, custom patios, covered porches, brick fire pits or fireplaces, outdoor kitchens, and even private pools with pool houses/cabanas.
Homesites measure 2.0 to 8.82 acres, most with heavily wooded rear yards and rolling topography. There is also one home on 17.27 acres.
Homes encircling the 7+ acre stocked lake in the center of the community boast especially serene water views and on-site fishing, kayaking and paddleboarding.

Aptly named, Secluded Highlands is enveloped in nearly every direction by forested parkland (designated in green on above maps). Bordering the community to the northeast is the 44.7-acre Rising Valley Park with picnic areas, pavilions, playgrounds, ball fields, hiking, and seasonal sled-riding and cross-country skiing. To the north, west, and southwest are 315 acres of land belonging to the Cleveland Metroparks’ Hinckley Reservation. On the opposite side of Oviatt Rd is Richfield Heritage Preserve, offering 336 acres of wooded hiking trails including a portion of the Buckeye Trail, winding streams, two lakes for fishing and non-motorized watersports, and a horse barn with five miles of bridle trails.
The entrance street of Dunheath Dr is flanked by large landscape beds and masonry signage.
As with most country developments, there are no curbs or sidewalks.
Most homes have Hinckley addresses and attend Highland Local Schools. Those with Richfield addresses (even house numbers 4226 & 4266 Oviatt Rd and 4255, 4256 & 4267 Dunheath Dr) attend Revere Local Schools.
Homeowners Association (HOA) fees are approximately $200 annually.

Secluded Highlands is located in Hinckley (Medina County) and Richfield Ohio (Summit County), off Oviatt Rd, 0.6 miles north of W Streetsboro Rd (OH-303).
Access to highways is convenient with only 10 minutes to I-77 and I-271, and 12 minutes to I-80/Turnpike.
You’re 4-7 mins from some of the best local restraunts: Olesia’s Tavern, Teschner’s Tavern, and Whitey’s Booze N’ Burgers.
In addition to the parks bordering this development, the main section of The Metroparks’ Hinckley Reservation is only a 5 min drive with 2,803 acres including twenty miles of all-purpose trails, bridle trails, a 90-acre lake (Hinckley Lake) with a boathouse for water sport rentals, a beach, swimming pool, two smaller fishing ponds also used for ice fishing and skating come winter, stone carvings at Worden’s Ledges, and its most notable feature–the porous sandstone outcroppings of Whipp’s Ledges. Hinckley Reservation is also home to the annual festival known as Buzzard’s Day, which celebrates the return of the turkey vulture to the area around mid-March. Summit County Metroparks is 10 min away. Cuyahoga Valley National Park is 14 min away with 33,000-acres including the Cuyahoga River and numerous waterfalls, the 87-mile Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail, and the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad.
If you’re a golfer, you are only 3 min to St. Bernard Golf Club, 7 min to Hinckley Hills, 10 min to Briarwood and Seneca, 8 min to Ironwood, 13 min to Valleaire, 14 min to Pine Hills Golf Club, and 15 min to Sleepy Hollow.
