About Secluded Highlands in Hinckley and Richfield
Secluded Highlands is a community of roughly 55 custom-built luxury homes surrounded by lush parkland. It includes homes in both Hinckley and Richfield.
Aptly named, Secluded Highlands is surrounded in nearly every direction by forested parkland. Bordering the community to the northeast is the 44.7-acre Rising Valley Park with picnic areas, pavilions, playgrounds, ball fields, hiking, and seasonal sled-riding and cross country skiing. Surrounding the development to the north, west, and southwest are 315 acres of land belonging to the Cleveland Metroparks’ Hinckley Reservation with the East Branch of the Rocky River running through it, presenting opportunities for wildlife viewing. Directly across the street is Richfield Heritage Preserve, offering 336-acres of wooded hiking trails including a portion of the Buckeye Trail, winding streams, two lakes for fishing and non-motorized watersports, and a horse barn with five miles of bridle trails.
The homes in this development were built beginning in 1990, with the final few lots available for new builds as of 2021. Builders include Eli Miller, George Ford, and Stephen Moore.
These homes offer 3-5 bedrooms and 4.5-6.5 bathrooms. They are elegantly appointed with desirable amenities including open floorplans, soaring custom ceilings, hardwood and ceramic tile flooring, custom millwork, solid wood doors, dramatic two-story foyers with open staircases, two-story great rooms with fireplaces and floor-to-ceiling windows, formal living and dining rooms, private dens with built-ins, guest/in-law suites, mudrooms with built-ins, and first-floor laundry rooms with cabinets and utility tubs. Large kitchens feature an abundance of granite or quartzite countertops, tile backsplash, breakfast bar seating, top-of-the-line appliances, butler’s pantry, walk-in pantry, dinette area, and hearth or morning room. First-floor owner’s suites include vaulted ceilings, a sitting area, fireplace, walk-in closets, and spa-like baths with custom tiled walk-in showers, soaking tubs, dual vanities, makeup vanity, and enclosed lavatory. Finished lower levels (some are coveted walk-outs!) are complete with media/theater rooms, kitchens/kitchenettes, bars, wine cellars, and exercise rooms. Homes offer 3 to 5+ car garages, many of which are heated and have epoxy flooring.
Homesites have heavily wooded rear yards and measure 2 to 8.82 acres. Many are rolling lots with ravines. A number of homes have an especially serene view overlooking a 7-acre stocked lake. Outdoor living is enhanced with professional landscaping, custom patios, covered porches, brick fire pits or fireplaces, outdoor kitchens, and even private pools, hot tubs and pool houses.
