Woodmore Estates in Avon Ohio is a scenic, heavily wooded community of single-family homes offering private yards, direct access to Avon East Elementary School, and walking distance to Schwartz Park. This collection of roughly 115 colonial homes was built by C.J. Tom Builders and Ryan Homes from 1997-2000. Many homes have since been updated.

Homes in Woodmore Estates range from 2,000-4,000+ square feet, with 3–5 bedrooms and 2.5–3.5 bathrooms. Inside you’ll find dramatic two-story foyers with open staircases, hardwood floors, formal living & dining rooms, private dens, vaulted great rooms with fireplaces, kitchens with breakfast bars and dinettes or morning rooms, 9′ main level ceilings, first-floor laundry, finished basements, and spacious bedrooms and closets. Vaulted owner’s suites feature walk-in closets and private baths with dual sinks, soaking tubs and walk-in showers. Oversized garages accommodate 2-3 cars, with larger homesites featuring side-entry garages.

Backyards are appointed with multi-tiered decks and custom stamped patios.

Homesites are approximately 100′ wide and range from .34 to .75 acres. There are also two larger lots measuring 1.37 and 1.39 acres.

Woodmore is truly a fitting name for this subdivision. Unlike most Avon communities that are completely void of mature trees, nearly every backyard is wooded, attracting songbirds and offering privacy, lush natural beauty, and shade for significantly cooler al-fresco enjoyment on your deck/patio during hot summer days.

Roughly a dozen homes surround a 2.04-acre parcel of HOA-owned greenspace (yellow section on above map).

Woodmore Estates has two entrances off Schwartz Rd: Spruce Ct and N Sandy Ln, each with landscaping and signage.

In addition to its entrance streets, the subdivision also encompasses the streets of Beech Ln, Hickory Ct, and Persimmon Ln. Persimmon Ln is currently a dead-end street, which could be extended with future development opportunities.

Its streets are enhanced with lantern-style streetlights, street trees, curbs and sidewalks on both sides of the street, and custom red street signs at each intersection.

Avon East Elementary School is directly accessible via a paved walkway from the eastern Hickory Ct cul-de-sac, which leads to the field behind the school’s playground. Bussing is also provided to the school.

This community allows fences, pools and sheds.

Homeowner’s Association (HOA) fees at Woodmore Estates are approximately $10/month.

The subdivision of Hawkesbury Court abuts the east end of this development.

Woodmore Estates is located off the north side of Schwartz Rd, between Jaycox and Nagel roads. This southeastern section of Avon Ohio is surrounded by other subdivisions, golf courses, parks and pastures.

Woodmore Estates is ideally situated 1.3 miles south of I-90 – far enough to evade traffic noise, but accessible in under 10 minutes.

Directly across the street and walkable from the community is Schwartz Park with 67.8 acres, ball fields/courts, a playground, nature trails, and pavilions with picnic tables and grills.

Just down the road is Miller Nature Preserve with hiking trails, a seasonal butterfly house, and a 5,000-square-foot conservatory featuring orchids and various plant specimens from around the world. There’s also a visitor center with a gift shop, café, event hall, and an outdoor patio that hosts weekly music events during summertime. Come winter, the community center hosts art, cooking and card-making classes.

There are a number of golf courses nearby: 7 min to Bob-O-Link and Hilliard Lakes Golf Course, 8 min to Sweetbriar, 8 min to Meadowood, and 17 min to Springvale and Valley of the Eagles Golf Club.

If you desire a day at the beach, Huntington Reservation on Lake Erie is less than 15 minutes away.

The subdivision is 7 minutes from Avon Commons (Costco, Heinen’s grocery, GNC, Target, Kohl’s, Walmart, Home Depot, World Market, Michael’s, Marshall’s, Old Navy, Bath & Body Works, Famous Footwear, Panera, IHOP, Friday’s, Applebee’s). You’re 8 min from the 75-acre, open-air collection of restaurants, retail, entertainment & leisure at Crocker Park.
