About McIntosh Farms in Avon
McIntosh Farms is one of Drees Homes‘ newer upscale communities located in southwest Avon Ohio, off Moon Rd, between Detroit Rd and French Creek Rd. Built between 2018 and 2021, there are roughly 63 single-family homes.
Homes have an array of distinctive elevations including contemporary cottage, modern farmhouse, Tudor, and stately stone-faced facades.
Drees offered nine floorplans, including both ranch and two-story styles, from which to personalize.
Homes range from 2,400-5,000 square feet, with 3–5 bedrooms and 2.5–5 bathrooms.
The homes at McIntosh Farms are loaded with desirable modern features and design elements: smart technology, open floorplans, high ceilings, solid hardwood floors, custom trim and crown moulding, kitchens with walk-in pantries and oversized granite/quartz islands with breakfast bars, first-floor guest suites, spacious bedrooms with large closets, enviable upstairs laundry, second-floor bonus/game rooms, owner’s suites with huge walk-in closets and luxurious spa-like bathrooms, finished basements, 2-3 car garages (some are side-entry), and backyards with decks and/or stamped concrete patios.
Cleared, generously sized homesites are approximately 100′ wide and range from 0.35 to 0.53 acres, some abutting HOA-owned greenspace offering pond or meadow views.
Previously farmland, the property is flat and offers wide open vistas.
As for trees, the north and south ends of the community are bordered by a narrow tree line. Homes along the southwest end of McIntosh Pl abut forested greenspace owned by the neighboring HOA.
NOTE: For those with sensitivities or concerns about visual encumbrance, high-voltage (HV) steel transmission towers run just beyond the west end of the development, next to the train tracks.
McIntosh Farms has one entrance off the west side of Moon Rd via McIntosh Pl. Its entrance is flanked by lush landscape beds with community signage and white crossbuck fencing.
In addition to the entrance street of McIntosh Pl, the community also encompasses the streets of Orrs Orch, Winesap Trl, and two homes (house numbers 3162 & 3166) on Woodland Trl, which connects to the neighboring subdivision to the north, Orchard Trail.
This community has tree lawn saplings, lantern-style streetlights, and curbs and sidewalks on both sides of the street.
Homeowners Association (HOA) fees at McIntosh Farms are approximately $450 annually.
Abutting this development to the south is Arlington Place.
Other nearby Avon communities include Amberwood off Moon Rd, Avondale off Detroit Rd (also features larger homesites), and Fairfield Estates and Stonebridge Creek off French Creek Rd.

The subdivision of McIntosh Farms is located in southwest Avon Ohio, off the west side of Moon Road, 0.3 miles north of OH-254/Detroit Road, near the Sheffield border.
It is ideally located for commuting, with I-90 only 6 min away.
The community is located close to Avon’s top-ranked schools (5 min drive to Middle & High Schools; 7 min to Early Learning Center; 8 min to Heritage Elementary; 11 min to East Elementary, making for easy morning drop-offs.
There are many nearby opportunities for activity and enjoyment. You’re 4 minutes from the 16-acre Eagle Point Park with a Cross Country course and 4-acre pond, and Veterans Memorial Park with 98 acres for outdoor recreation including walking trails, ponds, ball fields/courts, a playground, a dog park, restrooms, and two pavilions with picnic tables and grills. There’s also the nearby Miller Nature Preserve, offering nature lovers hiking trails, a seasonal butterfly house, and a 5,000-square-foot conservatory featuring orchids and various plant specimens from around the world. There’s also a visitor center with a gift shop, café, event hall, and an outdoor patio that hosts weekly music events during summertime. Come winter, the community center hosts art, cooking and card-making classes. If you desire a day at the lake, Huntington Beach is just 20 minutes away!
A plethora of shopping and dining options are nearby at Avon Commons (<10 minutes) and Crocker Park (<20 minutes).
