Stone Wheel Estates is a single-street* community in southeast Avon Ohio with 47 custom and semi-custom homes built between 2008 and 2011 by Garland Griffin (now Garland) and Drees Homes.

Elevations feature a variety of styles including traditional full-brick, cottage farmhouse, and French country.

Stone Wheel Estates includes colonial homes and a few ranch homes ranging from 2,400-4,900 square feet with 3–5 bedrooms and 2.5–5 bathrooms.

NOTE: Currently, the east side of the community abuts a forested parcel. However, if and when the stub street of Gristmill Ave is extended to the east, the woodlands may be cleared or reduced to a tree line.

Stone Wheel Estates entrance off Schwartz Rd

The entrance street, Stone Wheel St (also called Stone Wheel Run St), is located off the north side of Schwartz Rd, between Nagel and Bradley roads. It is flanked on both sides by stately stacked stone signage surrounded by landscaping and colorful perennials.

Stone Wheel St is enhanced by street trees, curbs and sidewalks.

Post is delivered to the cluster box units just south of Gristmill Ave.

*The cross street of Gristmill Ave adjoins the neighborhood to the west, Fieldstone Landings.

This community permits fences, pools and sheds.

Stone Wheel Estates Homeowners’ Association (HOA) fees are approximately $350 annually.

Across the street is The Reserve at Mass Estates. Other nearby Avon communities are Woodbridge Estates and The Vineyards.

Stone Wheel Estates is located in southeast Avon Ohio, off Schwartz Rd between Nagel Rd and Bradley Rd. This desirable southeast corner of the city features parks, pastures and golf courses.

Situated just over a mile south of I-90, the neighborhood is far enough away to evade interstate traffic noise, but still accessible within 7 minutes.

Commuting to Avon’s top-rated schools is also easy: East Elementary 4 mins, Heritage Elementary 8 mins, Early Learning Center 10 mins, Middle School and High School 13 mins.

If you’re a golfer, there are a few nearby courses: 5 mins to Hilliard Lakes, 8 min to Bob-O-Link and Meadowood, and 12 mins to Sweetbriar.

There are also a number of local private clubs: 5 min to Lakewood Country Club, 6 mins to Red Tail, and 8 mins to Avon Oaks Country Club.

There are numerous opportunities for outdoor recreation. Schwartz Park (4 min) encompasses 67.8 acres with ball fields/courts, a playground, nature trails, and pavilions with picnic tables and grills. Bradley Nature Park in Westlake (5 min) is a 20-acre park on Bradley Road with a sledding hill, a tot playground, a pavilion, picnic tables and grills, a nature trail and restroom facilities. Bradley Woods Reservation (7 min), also in Westlake, has 828 acres of dense forests, 2+ miles of hiking trails, a fishing lake with surrounding walking path, picnic pavilion, greenspace, and monarch butterfly waystation. Avon’s Miller Nature Preserve (9 min) offers nature lovers hiking trails, a seasonal butterfly house, and a 5,000-square-foot conservatory featuring orchids and various plant specimens from around the world. There’s also a visitor center with a gift shop, café, event hall, and an outdoor patio that hosts weekly music events during summertime. Come winter, the community center hosts art, cooking and card-making classes. 

Fancy a day at the beach? You’re only 15 minutes from the shores of Lake Erie at Huntington Beach.

Nearby shopping and dining options are plentiful. The 75-acre, open-air collection of restaurants, retail, entertainment & leisure at Westlake’s Crocker Park is just 6 minutes away. You’re also only 9 minutes from banking, shops & restaurants of Avon Commons: Costco, Heinen’s grocery, GNC, Target, Kohl’s, Walmart, Home Depot, World Market, Michael’s, Marshall’s, Old Navy, Bath & Body Works, Famous Footwear, Panera, IHOP, Friday’s, Applebee’s.
