Highland Park in Avon Ohio is a master-planned community built from the late 1990s through to 2021, with homesites still available for new construction today. This super-community has roughly 600+ homes built by Pulte Homes and Drees, as well as custom builders like Lapos and Smitek.
Most homes in Highland Park are colonial homes, but there are a few ranch homes as well. Homes range from 1,800 to 5,800+ square feet, with 3–6 bedrooms and 2–5 bathrooms. Lot sizes range from .2 to 1.55 acres. Premium cul-de-sac, pond view, park view, and wooded homesites are available to suit your desired surrounding.
The easternmost section of Highland Park consists of “classic series” homes, which have 2-car front-load garages and narrower home sites. These homes occupy the streets of Haverford Pl, Billingsley Row, Astoria Way, Caronia Cir, and 8 homes along N Park Dr. Highland Park “classic series” homesites range from .2 acres to .75 acres. These homes are available as ranch or colonial and have 1,800-3,600 square feet, with 3–4 bedrooms and 2–3.5 bathrooms.
The rest of the community is single-family “estate” homes, which have wider homesites to accommodate 3-car garages, many of them side-load. Highland Park “estate” homesites range from .3 to 1.55 acres. These homes are all colonial homes and have 2,400-5,800+ square feet, with 4–6 bedrooms and 2.5–5 bathrooms.
These impressive homes, particularly the newer ones, are loaded with features that cater to even the most elite tastes: cultured marble, coffered ceilings, split staircases with wrought iron spindles, stone-faced gas fireplaces, mudrooms with built-ins, lower-level theater rooms, and custom backyard oasis with outdoor kitchens. Other desirable amenities include large windows, two-story foyers, open concept floor plans, vaulted great rooms, and finished basements. Owner’s suites are appointed with walk-in closet(s) and a glamour bath with separate tub and shower. Spacious gourmet kitchens feature granite or Corian countertops, large islands, breakfast bars, butler’s pantry, and walk-in food pantry.
Highland Park homes sell at an average price per square foot in the mid $150s/SF, with some newer construction homes selling at $200/SF.
In addition to stunning homes, Highland Park subdivision also offers a complete lifestyle experience! Amenities include an outdoor swimming pool and a children’s pool, fully-equipped community center, tennis courts, and a 20-acre nature park with green space, a fitness path, playground, and wooded area with bike trails and jumps.
The community is beautifully manicured with tree lawn saplings and mature wooded areas. Curbs and sidewalks are on both sides of the street, so there’s plenty of pavement to bike, skate or walk the dog.
Highland Park Homeowner’s Association (HOA) fees are approximately $450 annually.
There are three stately entrances to Highland Park – each with meticulously landscaped brick signage: S Park Dr has an entrance off Stoney Ridge Rd and an entrance off Center Rd/State Route 83, which is the main entrance; the third entrance is Harriman Trail off Stoney Ridge Rd.

Highland Park is located in the south-central region of Avon, near the northern border of North Ridgeville. It sits between Stoney Ridge Road and Route 83/Center Road, north of Mills Rd.
This southern section of Avon is surrounded by golf courses and pastures, tucked away from the bustle of retail and interstate congestion.
It is approximately 10 minutes from Interstate 90, via either the OH-254/Detroit Rd or OH-83/Center Road interchange.
With close proximity to top-rated Avon Schools, driving to school is a breeze: Heritage Elementary, the Middle and High School are roughly 6 mins away; Avon East Elementary is about 8 mins.
There are many nearby opportunities for activity and enjoyment. Just 3 minutes north is Miller Nature Preserve. It offers nature lovers hiking trails, a seasonal butterfly house, and a 5,000-square-foot conservatory featuring orchids and various plant specimens from around the world. There’s also a visitor center with a gift shop, café, event hall, and an outdoor patio that hosts weekly music events during summertime. Come winter, the community center hosts art, cooking and card-making classes.
Veterans Memorial Park has 98 acres including walking trails, ponds, ball fields/courts, a playground, restrooms, and two pavilions with picnic tables and grills. The park is also home to the annual Avon Heritage Duct Tape Festival.
There’s also the French Creek YMCA, a state-of-the-art, 6,000+ square-foot facility featuring an eight-lane indoor pool, aerobics studio, family gym, sauna, whirlpool, wellness center and child-care center.
Catch a minor league baseball game at Avon’s Crushers Stadium, home of the Lake Erie Crushers. On rainy days, you’ll find indoor entertainment for the whole family at Main Event, offering state-of-the-art bowling; more than 110 of the hottest interactive and video games; multi-level laser tag; regulation billiards and relaxing shuffleboard; and a bar & restaurant. There’s also Play: CLE, a 25,000 square foot indoor active entertainment center for all ages.
If you’re a golfer, there are a number of courses nearby: Bob-O-Link Golf Course is right across the street from the main entrance of S Park Dr, 11 min to Sweetbriar and Hilliard Lakes, 13 min to Valley of the Eagles Golf Club, 17 min to Springvale, and 18 min to Cherry Ridge Golf Course.
Should you desire a day at the lake, Huntington Beach is only 20 minutes away!
A plethora of shopping and dining options are nearby at Avon Commons (<10 minutes): Costco, Heinen’s grocery, GNC, Target, Kohl’s, Walmart, Home Depot, World Market, Michael’s, Marshall’s, Old Navy, Bath & Body Works, Famous Footwear, Panera, IHOP, Friday’s, Applebee’s. The 75-acre, open-air collection of restaurants, retail, entertainment & leisure at Crocker Park is only 15 minutes away.
There are some excellent Avon restaurants like Nemo Grille, Avon Brewing Company, Heck’s of Avon for burgers, In Forno for Neapolitan pizza, Kelsey Elizabeth Cakes for macarons, Veranda Bistro & Bar, and my personal favorite, Strip Steakhouse (I recommend the “Flip Flop” cold lobster salad, and any of the steaks accompanied with Gruyère Mac and Cheese and Bourbon Creamed Corn).
