It is connected to the neighboring subdivision of Amberwood via Avondale Dr and Crosscreek Dr (also spelled Cross Creek Dr).
The community is bordered to the northeast by the subdivision of Kenwyn Village, and to the east by Briar Lakes development. Other nearby Avon communities include Orchard Trail off Moon Rd.
Avondale has curbs and sidewalks on both sides of the street.

The subdivision of Avondale in Avon Ohio is located off OH-254/Detroit Rd, just east of Moon Rd.
It is less than 10 minutes from Interstate 90, via either the OH-254/Detroit Rd or OH-83/Center Road interchange; 15 min from I-80/Turnpike.
There are many nearby opportunities for activity and enjoyment. As for parks, it’s just a 5 minute drive to both Veterans Memorial Park and Miller Nature Preserve. Veterans Memorial Park offers 98 acres for outdoor recreation including walking trails, ponds, ball fields/courts, a playground, restrooms, and two pavilions with picnic tables and grills. Miller Nature Preserve has hiking trails, a seasonal butterfly house, and a 5,000-square-foot conservatory featuring orchids and various plant specimens from around the world.
