About Avondale in Avon

Located in southwest Avon Ohio off the north side of Detroit Rd, 0.7 miles east of Case Rd, is the 114-home community of Avondale.

This development was named after Avondale Golf Course, which previously occupied the property.

Homes were constructed exclusively by Ryan Homes between 2015 and 2020. Being that homes were constructed by the same builder over the course of five years, the streetscape bears architectural continuity.

While there are some more traditionally-styled and full brick facades, most Avondale homes are Cratsman-inspired (modern farmhouse) with staggered facades, unique rooflines, and a combination of stone/brick wrap, white window trim & rake board/fascia trim, and/or gable accents. Many homes have extended front porches with room for seating that welcomes casual chats with neighbors.

Avondale has both two-story colonial and ranch homes available with 2–3 car garages. Ranches range from 1,400-2,000 square feet with 3 beds and 2 baths. Colonial homes range from 2,100-4,700+ square feet with 3–6 beds and 2.5–5 baths.

Avondale’s modern open floorplans are appointed with today’s most desired amenities: mudrooms, private dens, arched entryways, solid hardwood floors, spacious bedrooms with large closets, enviable upstairs laundry, second-floor bonus/game rooms, kitchens with pantries and breakfast bars, kitchen dining areas, pocket offices, owner’s suites with dual sink vanities and tiled showers, and finished basements. Front-entry garages accommodate 2-3 cars. Backyards are complete with stamped patios for entertaining.

Cleared, generously sized homesites (on the larger side for Avon developments) are approximately 100′ wide and range from 0.38 to 0.75 acres.

Many homes abut a portion of the nearly 19 acres of HOA-owned greenspace offering treed backdrops, meadow views, or views over any of six ponds.

For those with sensitivities or concerns about visual encumbrance, there are three rows of high-voltage steel lattice tower transmission lines running along the eastern end of the community. Directly across the street from the community entrance is an electric power station.

There is one direct entrance to Avondale off Detroit Rd via Fairview Drive. The entrance is elegantly decorated by elongated landscape beds with community signage, stone pillars, hedging, ornamental black metal fencing, and garden rocks.

In addition to the main/entrance street of Fairview Dr, the community also encompasses the streets of Avondale Dr, Bluebird Ct, Briar Lakes Dr, Cardinal Ct, Crosscreek Drive, and Deepdale Ct.

Avondale is also accessible through the adjoining subdivision of Amberwood from French Creek Rd or Moon Rd.

Avondale’s streets are lined with decorative trees, streetlights, curbs and sidewalks.

This community allows for fences, in-ground pools, and sheds.

Homeowners’ Association (HOA) fees at Avondale are approximately $600 annually.

Other nearby Avon communities include Arlington Place, McIntosh Farms, and Orchard Trail.

Come winter, the community center hosts art, cooking and card-making classes.

You’re just 8 minutes from Sheffield’s retail sector and less than 10 minutes from banking, shops & restaurants of Avon Commons: Costco, Heinen’s grocery, GNC, Target, Kohl’s, Walmart, Home Depot, World Market, Michael’s, Marshall’s, Old Navy, Bath & Body Works, Famous Footwear, Panera, IHOP, Friday’s, Applebee’s. The 75-acre, open-air collection of restaurants, retail, entertainment & leisure at Crocker Park is 18 minutes away.
