Red Tail is a prestigious, master-planned golf course community in Avon, Ohio offering residents premium amenities. Nestled among the manicured greens are luxury homes of varying styles and designs.

Red Tail homes were built beginning in the late 1990s by builders including Buckingham Homes, Cleveland Custom Homes, Drees Homes, Greco Homes, Hearth, Petros Homes, Sareth Builders, and Surest Homes.

In 2023, Drees Homes added St. Gregory Way (on the east side of Nagel Road, near Reserve Way at St. Andrews) for Phase 17 of development. There are yet some lots available for new construction by various custom home builders.

Red Tail luxury homes range in size from 1,700 square feet up to an impressive 7,000 square feet. Colonial, ranch and cape cod style homes are available with various facades including European, stately brick, modern farmhouse, and contemporary cottage.

Lots are sized from 0.11 acres to 0.65 acres, ranging from easily manageable with minimal yardwork to those that can accommodate sprawling multi-tiered outdoor living spaces. Most of the larger lots (approximately 85-110′ frontage/width) are located west of Nagel Rd in Sections 3, 8, and most of Section 1: Doral Dr; Royal St George Dr; Silver Oak Dr; St Francis Ct; St Sharbel Ct; the north, south and southeast sides of St Francis Dr; and the eastern end of St Marion Blvd. On the east side of Nagel Rd, larger lots are found in Sections 13 & 15, along the east side of the southern half of St Theresa Blvd.

The main community (west of Nagel) has three direct entrances: one from Jaycox Rd via Saint Maron Blvd, and two from Nagel Rd via Saint Francis Dr and Via San Angelo Dr.

This west section of Red Tail also encompasses the streets of Crown Colony Dr, Royal Saint George Dr, Saint Francis Ct, Saint Joseph Way, Saint Sharbel Ct, Silver Oak Dr, Doral Dr, Via San Angelo, and Vilamoura Dr.

The Red Tail subdivision of Chestnut Creek Estates (along the westernmost end) occupies the streets of Bellerive Way, Laurel Way, the west end of Saint Maron Blvd, and homes along Jaycox Rd.

The west side of Red Tail is connected to the neighboring community of Summer Hill via Winter Brook Dr from Saint Francis Dr.

The eastern side of Red Tail (east of Nagel Rd) has two entrances: Reserve Way At Saint Andrews and Lyons Gate Run. It also encompasses the streets of Khouri Ct, Queens Gate, Restivo Cir, Saint Annes Ct, Saint Anthony Dr, Saint Raymond Way, Saint Marie Ct, Samuel James Ln, San Antonio Way, and most homes on Saint Theresa Blvd. The northern end of Saint Theresa Blvd is the community of St James Woods.

There are curbs and sidewalks on both sides of the streets throughout Red Tail.

All entrances have exquisite landscaping and a divided median with gilded signage.

Homeowner’s Association (HOA) fees are approximately $625 annually.

NOTE: Homeowners are required to hold either a resident social membership or resident golf membership. Resident social membership is $210.00/month plus locker room amenities fees. Resident golf membership is $575/month plus $763/year for additional course funds. Both membership categories also incur a $100/month minimum for club dining.

About Red Tail Golf Club

Red Tail Golf Club is Avon’s only golf course community. It offers exclusive luxury living centered around family. Location & Nearby Amenities

Red Tail Golf Club community is located south of Detroit Road, off of Jaycox and Lear Nagle roads, in the desirable southeast corner of Avon. This is a quiet, residential area of single-family home subdivisions nestled amongst parks, golf courses and pastures.

The community is ideally situated 2.5 miles south of I-90 – far enough to evade traffic noise, but accessible within 10 minutes.

Schwartz Park and Miller Nature Preserve are just two of the neighboring parks serving your recreational needs. Schwartz Park encompasses 67.8 acres with ball fields/courts, a playground, nature trails, and pavilions with picnic tables and grills. Miller Nature Preserve has hiking trails, a seasonal butterfly house, and a 5,000-square-foot conservatory featuring orchids and various plant specimens from around the world. There’s also a visitor center with a gift shop, café, event hall, and an outdoor patio that hosts weekly music events during summertime. Come winter, the community center hosts art, cooking and card-making classes.

There’s also the French Creek YMCA, a state-of-the-art, 6,000+ square-foot facility featuring an eight-lane indoor pool, aerobics studio, family gym, sauna, whirlpool, wellness center and child-care center.

Catch a minor league baseball game at Avon’s Crushers Stadium, home of the Lake Erie Crushers. On rainy days, you’ll find indoor entertainment for the whole family at Main Event, offering state-of-the-art bowling; more than 110 of the hottest interactive and video games; multi-level laser tag; regulation billiards and relaxing shuffleboard; and a bar & restaurant.

Aside from Red Tail’s course, there are a number of other golf courses nearby: 8 min to Bob-O-Link Golf Course, 12 min to Sweetbriar and Hilliard Lakes, 17 min to Springvale and Valley of the Eagles Golf Club, and 23 min to Cherry Ridge Golf Course.

If you desire a day at the beach, Huntington Reservation on Lake Erie is less than 20 minutes away.

Just north of the community is Yummy Grapes vineyard, family-owned and operated for over 70 years, selling a variety of delicious grapes like Concord and Niagra.

Nearby shopping and dining options are plentiful. You’re only 10 minutes from banking, shops & restaurants of Avon Commons: Costco, Heinen’s grocery, GNC, Target, Kohl’s, Walmart, Home Depot, World Market, Michael’s, Marshall’s, Old Navy, Bath & Body Works, Famous Footwear, Panera, IHOP, Friday’s, Applebee’s. The 75-acre, open-air collection of restaurants, retail, entertainment & leisure at Crocker Park is just 12 minutes away.

There are some excellent Avon restaurants like Nemo GrilleAvon Brewing CompanyHeck’s of Avon for burgers, In Forno for Neapolitan pizza, Kelsey Elizabeth Cakes for macarons, Veranda Bistro & Bar, and my personal favorite, Strip Steakhouse (I recommend the “Flip Flop” cold lobster salad, and any of the steaks accompanied with Gruyère Mac and Cheese and Bourbon Creamed Corn).

Lake Ridge Academy, an esteemed K-12 co-educational college preparatory school in the neighboring suburb of North Ridgeville is 15 min away.
