About St James Woods in Avon
St James Woods is a 54-acre residential subdivision in southeast Avon, Ohio with 58 high-end homes, wooded greenspace, and close proximity to Red Tail Golf Course and Hilliard Lakes Golf Course.
The community is located 0.7 miles south of Schwartz Rd off the east side of Nagel Rd, and encompasses the streets of St Anthonys Way, St James Trail, the southernmost end of Napa Blvd (house numbers 3750-3956), and seven homes along the north end of St Theresa Blvd.


These homes were constructed by Garland New Homes between 2006-2014.
Homes in St James Woods are mainly colonial style, but there are also a few cape cod and ranches. Cape cod and colonial homes range from 2,700-4,600+ square feet, with 3–6 bedrooms and 2.5–6.5 bathrooms. Ranch homes range from 2,200 to 4,400+ square feet, with 3 bedrooms and 2–2.5 bathrooms.
Facades are traditionally styled as full brick front or partial brick/stone with vinyl siding or shake. Further enhancing their curb appeal, each home has a side-entry garage.
Inside, you’ll find enviable amenities like 9′ first floor ceilings, hardwood floors, crown moulding, double-hung trimmed windows, open floor plans, dramatic two-story foyers with turned staircases, formal dining rooms with trimmed tray ceilings, formal living rooms and/or private dens, and fireplaced great rooms (some are two-story) that open to kitchens with quartz/granite countertops, a large island with breakfast bar, 42-inch cabinets, wall ovens, dining nook, butler’s pantry, and food pantry. Owner’s suites offer vaulted ceilings, fireplaced seating areas, walk-in closets, and ensuite bathrooms with dual sinks/vanities, a soaking/jetted tub, and walk-in shower. Full finished basements with 9′ ceilings offer additional space for recreation and may include theater rooms, billiard rooms, bars and gyms. Side-load garages accommodate 2-3 cars.
Backyards are complete with covered living areas, custom patios and/or composite decks.
Homesites measure 100′ wide and are generously sized, ranging from 0.38 to 0.76 acres.
The community was designed around a 14-acre parcel of wetlands, offering a private wooded backdrop for homes along the south side of St James Trl and west side of St Theresa Blvd. Numerous homes abutting this greenspace also boast partially wooded backyards. HOA-owned common area/greenspace is designated in yellow on the map above.
Most of the community’s perimeter has a treeline or a neighboring wooded parcel, offering privacy.
There are also two large ponds, offering serene water views from surrounding homes.
Napa Blvd is currently a dead-end street, which could be extended with future development opportunities.
St James Woods does not have its own direct entrance. It is accessible from the east side of Nagel Rd through adjoining subdivisions: Augusta Woods, neighboring to the north, via Augusta Way; or from the south through Red Tail via Reserve Way At Saint Andrews.
The streets of St James Woods are enhanced by lantern-style streetlights, street trees, curbs, and sidewalks on both sides of the street, so there’s plenty of pavement to bike, skate or walk the dog.
Mail is delivered to the double mailbox posts placed between every few homes.
Homeowners’ Association (HOA) fees at St James Woods are approximately $312 annually. Pools and fences are permitted.
