Westwind Farms is a community of 15 custom-built homes in northeast Hinckley, Ohio. This subdivision is located off the east side of River Road, 0.4 miles north of Center Rd (OH-303), comprising the streets of Trayfair Ct and Westwind Trce.


Homes were custom-built from 2001-2012, with the final home constructed in 2023.
Facades are designed with full brick or brick/stone accents, showcasing classic colonial, modern farmhouse and French country architecture.
These 2-story homes offer 3,200-6,700 square feet with 4-5 bedrooms and 3.5-4.5+ bathrooms.
Principal rooms include first-floor laundry rooms, dramatic two-story foyers with open staircases, hardwood flooring, custom ceilings, formal dining rooms, formal living rooms and/or private dens, and two-story/vaulted great rooms with fireplaces and floor-to-ceiling windows that open to large kitchens featuring expansive granite or quartz countertops, a breakfast bar, walk-in pantry, and dinette area. First floor owner’s suites include walk-in closets, and en suite bathrooms with walk-in showers, soaking tubs, dual sinks/vanities, and enclosed commodes. Finished lower levels (some are coveted walk-outs!) are complete with media rooms, kitchens/kitchenettes, bars, and exercise rooms. Side-entry garages maximize curb appeal and accommodate 3-4 cars.
Homes have well water and septic systems.
Outdoor living is enhanced by custom patios and/or decks, covered verandas, and firepits. A number of homes have their own private pools.
Homesites range from 2.0 to 7.97 acres.
Lots are either cleared or are partially to heavily wooded, particularly those around the Westwind Trce cul-de-sac.
Several tributary streams of the East Branch Rocky River intersect the community, offering gently rolling topography. Stream-adjacent properties may have riparian setbacks.

The front of the community is bordered by white three-rail ranch-style fencing and a backdrop of mature pines. At the entrance to Westwind Trce, the fencing intersects stacked stone pillars with inlaid signage.
Trayfair Ct and Westwind Trce have permanent cul-de-sacs.
As with most Hinckley communities, there are no curbs or sidewalks.
With only one entrance and no connection to another community, traffic is limited to residents and their guests.
This neighborhood is served by the highly-rated Highland Local School District along with bussing to St. Albert the Great School and the prestigious Old Trail School.
It is bordered to the north by River Road Horse Farm and to the east by the subdivision of Timber Ridge.

The Westwind Farms subdivision is located in Hinckley, Ohio, off the east side of River Road, 0.4 miles north of Center Rd (OH-303).
Highways are accessible in 8 min to I-271, 9 min to I-71, 12 min to I-77, and 15 min to I-80/Turnpike.
The Metroparks’ Hinckley Reservation is only a 3 min drive with 2,803 acres including twenty miles of all-purpose trails, bridle trails, a 90-acre lake (Hinckley Lake) with a boathouse for water sport rentals, a beach, swimming pool, two smaller fishing ponds also used for ice fishing and skating come winter, stone carvings at Worden’s Ledges, and its most notable feature–the porous sandstone outcroppings of Whipp’s Ledges. Hinckley Reservation is also home to the annual festival known as Buzzard’s Day, which celebrates the return of the turkey vulture to the area around mid-March. The Metroparks’ Mill Stream Run Reservation is 13 min away with trails, rope courses and zip lines, as well as The Chalet, which has two toboggan chutes that are open in the winter. Cuyahoga Valley National Park is 15 min away with 33,000-acres including the Cuyahoga River and numerous waterfalls, the 87-mile Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail, and the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad.
If you’re a golfer, this is a prime location with only 6 min to Hinckley Hills, 7 min to Ironwood and Valleaire, 5 min to St. Bernard Golf Club, 10 min to Pine Hills and Briarwood, and 12 min to Seneca Golf Courses.
