The City of Wadsworth parks offer pavilions, playgrounds, ball fields and courts, a dog park, skate park, walking and hiking paths, a fishing pond, and more. Come winter, residents can sled on Friedt Park’s hill or ice skate on Memorial Park’s pond. Memorial Park is a 47-acre park featuring Art Wright Stadium, a large fishing lake, and Kaleidoscope Playground–a 14,000-square-foot wooden play structure.
Memorial Park is also home to the Blue Tip Festival, an annual tradition named after the historic “strike-anywhere” Blue Tip Matches, which were manufactured here. The five-day celebration kicks off with a parade and the lighting of a 20-foot-tall blue tip matchstick that burns brightly throughout the festival, featuring carnival rides, food, games, contests, live music and a car show.


Run, walk, or bike the new Interurban Trail, a two-mile, 10-foot-wide multipurpose trail intersecting several parks along the city’s southeast corner.
Part of Summit County Metro Parks, Silver Creek Metro Park has an archery range, disc golf, cross-country trails, bridle trails, hiking trails, pavilions, a playground, and a 50-acre lake for boating, fishing, and ice fishing.
