About West Hampton in Rocky River
Located off Detroit Road in Rocky River Ohio are the cluster homes and townhomes of West Hampton (aka Westhampton Courts), offering limited-maintenance living in a gorgeous manicured setting. This enclave of 73 attached and freestanding residences was constructed by builders including Transcon Builders and Valore between 1982-2020, many of which have since been updated.
Reminiscent of an English hamlet surrounded by exquisitely manicured landscaping, homes have classic Tudor designs with brick, stucco and cedar, and wood shake roofs.
Single-standing cluster homes include ranch and two-story styles ranging mainly from 2,600-5,200 square feet with 3-5 bedrooms and 2.5-5 bathrooms.
Two-story attached townhomes mainly range from 2,600-4,100 square feet with 3-4 bedrooms and 2.5-3.5 bathrooms.
Attributes may include built-ins, skylights, wood-beamed ceilings, hardwood flooring, and marble or limestone-tiled floors. Principle rooms include large laundry rooms with cabinets and countertops, private dens or formal living rooms, spacious fireplaced family rooms (some are two-story or vaulted) and oversized windows, dining rooms with tray ceilings, and kitchens with high-end appliances, center islands, dining areas and even sunrooms. First or second-floor owner’s suites feature vaulted or beamed ceilings, walk-in closets and en-suite bathrooms with dual sinks/vanities, soaking/jetted tubs, and/or walk-in showers. Homes have slab foundations or full basements with bars and living areas. Garages accommodate 2-3 cars.
Outdoor living is enhanced by paver patios surrounded by landscaping or mature trees.
Most homes are surrounded by HOA-owned common space (designated in yellow on above map).

The entrance to West Hampton is off the south side of Detroit Rd, via Westhampton Dr, a half-mile west of Wagar Rd. It is elegantly flanked by blonde brick landscape walls that extend along the front of the community. In the center of the street is an elongated median with landscaping.
In addition to the entrance street of Westhampton Dr, this community also encompasses homes along the winding streets of Ashley Ct, Chippenham Ct, Warwick Ln, and Windsor Ct.
Directly west is Lakewood Cemetary. To the southeast is the city’s recreation complex. Bordering the community to the east are Beacon Hill Apartments, and to the south are the cluster homes of South Hampton.
This neighborhood is served by the top-rated Rocky River City School District.
Homeowner’s Association (HOA) fees at West Hampton are approximately $250 for freestanding cluster homes, which includes snow removal and landscaping.
HOA fees for attached units are approximately $666 monthly, which covers exterior building insurance, exterior building maintenance, landscaping (excluding patios) and lawn care, and snow removal including walkways.

West Hampton (also called Westhampton Courts) cluster homes are located in the southwest quadrant of Rocky River Ohio, off Detroit Rd, a half-mile west of Wagar Rd.
I-90 is accessible in just 2 min.
Downtown Rocky River is 4 min away with over 50 boutique retail stores and award-winning restaurants.
Surrounding recreational opportunities are abundant! Elmwood Park is a 3-min drive, which has baseball fields, a playground, and a pavilion. Bradstreet’s Landing 5.56-acre lakefront park recently underwent a 600-foot pier renovation.
It’s only a 4-min drive to City Hall Park with indoor facilities including Hamilton Ice Arena, a three-lap indoor track, basketball courts, fitness studios, a full fitness center, and an indoor aquatic facility with a lap area, lazy river, zero-entry splash zone; as well as outdoor areas including a playground, picnic facilities, and an outdoor pool complex.
The lakefront Bradstreet’s Landing Park (5 min drive) recently underwent a 600-foot pier renovation. Reese Park, also a 5 min drive, offers a playground, basketball and tennis/pickleball courts, and a baseball field.
The Metroparks’ Rocky River Reservation is only a 7 min drive, offering 2,520 acres with picnic areas, play areas, sledding hills, ball fields, nature trails, paved trails, nature center, stables and bridle trails, a marina, fishing areas, boat rentals, waterfalls and lagoons, and three golf courses.
Westwood Country Club is a only a half-mile west (4 min drive).
You are 6 min from the premier dining and social club, The Clifton Club, with a 3-story historic clubhouse, tennis courts, and a private beach with a playground and lakefront venue.
Boaters will feel right at home at The Cleveland Yachting Club (CYC) – a 7 min drive – one of the oldest and most prestigious yachting clubs in the nation. Home to more than 300 sail and powerboats, CYC is known for its beautiful setting, first-class facilities and family-friendly atmosphere. CYC is located on its own island at the mouth of Rocky River, nine miles west of downtown Cleveland.
