Valley Woods is a community of 43 custom-built homes located in Independence, Ohio. The development comprises Valley Woods Dr, located off the south side of Hillside Rd, directly west of I-77.


Homes were constructed from 1990-2006 by builders including Lustik Homes, Marek Builders, and Rinello Builders.
Homes feature stately full brick facades, with some homes boasting full brick surround.
These ranch and two-story homes range from 3,200-9,000 square feet (including finished basements) with 3-7 bedrooms and 3.5-6.5 bathrooms.
Valley Woods homes are appointed with desirable amenities including open floorplans, ceramic tile and hardwood or LVP flooring, first floor laundry rooms with cabinets and utility tubs, formal dining rooms, formal living rooms and/or private dens, and fireplaced great rooms with vaulted or two-story ceilings that are open to kitchens with granite or quartz countertops, a center island with breakfast bar, walk-in pantry, and dinette area. Owner’s suites (most are first-floor) include walk-in closets and en-suite bathrooms with custom tiled walk-in showers, soaking/jetted tubs, dual sinks/vanities, and enclosed commodes. Finished lower levels (some have daylight windows or are coveted walk-outs!) may include media rooms, kitchenettes, bars, wine cellars, exercise and storage rooms. Side-entry garages primarily accommodate 3-5 cars.
Backyards feature professionally designed gardens with custom patios and/or composite decks, water features, and fireplaces or fire pits.
Most lots are sized from 0.48 to 1.6 acres. There are also a few larger lots measuring between 2 and 3.2 acres.
Nearly every backyard is treed or partially to heavily wooded, offering privacy, shade, and the soothing sounds of birdsong.
A small stream intersects the subdivision (dashed blue line on above-illustrated map), creating scenic and rolling terrain to adjacent properties.
⚡POWER LINES: Straddling the south end of this subdivision is a 150′ wide utility easement with two rows of high voltage (HV) steel lattice tower transmission lines, for those with concerns about health and safety implications, visual encumbrance or property values.

This neighborhood is served by the top-rated Independence Local School District.
To the south, this neighborhood adjoins Forest Woods, which has its own entrance off E Pleasant Valley Rd.

The subdivision of Valley Woods is located in southwest Independence, Ohio, near the border of Seven Hills, off the south side of Hillside Rd, immediately west of I-77.
Access to highways is convenient with just 3 min to I-77 (directly east of the community), 6 min to I-480, and 12 min to I-80/Turnpike.
🔊NOISE: While the proximity to I-77 is convenient, the community may be subjected to interstate traffic noise. Homes along the eastern end of the community are particularly close (approximately 140 feet from the highway) and prone to direct noise pollution.
Independence Primary, Middle, and High Schools are all 4 min away. There are also a number of nearby private schools including Bethany Lutheran, Lawrence School, Padua, Parma Heights Christian Academy, St Albert the Great, St Michael, and Trinity High School.

Outside is an Olympic-size lap pool with a diving well, an activity pool with a 25-foot water slide and play structure with buckets and sprays, a whirlpool/spa, locker rooms, and an air-conditioned concession stand. The adjacent Elmwood Park has 46 acres with a large fountained pond, picnic pavilions, playgrounds, Safety Town, five baseball diamonds, soccer fields, tennis and pickleball courts, bocce ball, horseshoe pits, and more.
