History of Bramleigh Park

The land now comprising Bramleigh Park was previously owned by prominent Clevelander, Matthew Frederick Bramley (1868-1941). Mr. Bramley served in various elected public offices and was president of numerous companies including Templar Motors.

Around the turn of the century, as was done with most large estates along Lake Ave, Mr. Bramley subsidized his property for a new housing development he named Bramleigh Park. He reserved a large lakefront parcel for his new estate, called Harborview, after which he also named its new street, Harborview Dr. After his home was constructed in 1915, Harborview was included in the 1917 publication, Beautiful Homes of Cleveland. The grand home still stands today at 11320 Harborview Drive.
